Rick Alan Ross (consultant) bio

I have been banned from the Talk page of my bio. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Alan_Ross I have recently registered a new account at Wikipedia. I lost the password to my old account and my email address changed. I was told to contact the arbitration committee to straighten this out. I sent an email to two members of that committee a week ago, but have not received a response. I was then told to contact you through a post at the discussion board regarding bio of living persons. Please help me so that I may again post at the Talk page of my bio. ThanksRickAlanRoss1952 (talk) 15:04, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

The Arbitration Committee was dealing with this situation. I was formerly a member of that Committee, but am not any more. I will let them know about this thread and suggest that one of them contact you. Newyorkbrad (talk) 15:23, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

2006

Until you mentioned it, I hadn't taken note of the fact you are part of the 2006 cohort. The 2006 cohort, a product of our great growth years, has been extremely influential and had a huge legacy in shaping Wikipedia. From 2006 to 2014, if you choose any edit at random, then it is more likely that the editor who made it registered in 2006 than any other year. In 2015, it appears that this stroke may finally be broken, with the new generation (the 2015 cohort) making more edits than the 2006 cohort. Dragons flight (talk) 21:16, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

Interesting information; thanks. Technically, I made a few IP edits in 2005, but I registered in February 2006 and became active in July. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 22:33, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

Request for clarification of an ArbCom decision you participated in

Hi. I have filed a Request for clarification of Remedy 2.2 of WP:ARBRAN, concerning a topic ban placed on User:Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ). Since you were a member of ArbCom at the time, any insights you may wish to share about the committee's thinking would be welcome. Thanks. BMK (talk) 21:45, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up, but I expect that the other arbitrators and then-arbitrators will cover what needs to be said. If not, I'll weigh in. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 20:13, 15 September 2015 (UTC)

"Increased receptiveness to constructive criticism"

Hmm. I got banned last year from the Wikimedia-l list for saying that there were quality problems with articles. Peter Damian (talk) 22:30, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

I don't recall what might have happened on the mailing list, but I do think it's of interest that you were welcomed back on Wikipedia itself. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 19:41, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
Indeed. Speaking of which, I have started a new forum. Not intended to compete with WO, which has its own special place in history, but one more focused on putting the 'constructive' in 'criticism'. You would be very welcome. One of your fellow ex arbs has already applied. Best wishes. Peter Damian (talk) 19:03, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
Sorry, details here Peter Damian (talk) 19:05, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the invitation and the link. I'm badly pressed for time at the moment, but will look in when I can. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 20:14, 15 September 2015 (UTC)

AN discussion

Information icon This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is "Compromised admin account" Thank you.

Sorry for the hassle, but someone using your account posted on Wales's talk page [1] content that was simple English totally lacking qualifier prepositional phrases. Since you have the admin bit, I've requested an emergency block until you can change your password. (If you use the same password off-wiki, you might consider changing it there, too). NE Ent 13:32, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

That edit was posted by the other of the twin regents of Wikipedia, Jimbo Wales. I was going to block him instead, but there's actually a rather nice qualifier phrase, so I'm not sure what your problem is, NE Ent. Wrong diff? Bishonen | talk 19:17, 15 September 2015 (UTC).
Lix finked. 21:56, 15 September 2015 (UTC)

Help request

NYB, I know you are busy, but trust your impartiality. [2] I'm in an iBAN which I never wanted due to potential problems just like this; however, the other editor insisted and got the iBan in an AN. Now the same editor basically wants to ignore the iBAN when it comes to complete freedom to undo my edits, even after the undos have been pointed out. IMO that's having it both ways, and, the justification "IAR" is bogus for the edits overlaid, which I can clearly show if someone needs. Could you please help. (I went to Blade as first choice for admin help, but, it isn't stopping this editor, who now seems emboldened [3] even after a failed ANI [4].) IHTS (talk) 05:30, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
