Help me![edit]

Please help me with notability and reliable sources. The page I've created was rejected twice due to notability and it read as advertisement. Appreciate your help. Thanks!

Nice0903 (talk) 16:08, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nice0903, hello. My name here is Eggishorn and I hope I can help with your question. Writing new articles on a business is a difficult task and involves many rules but the most important one is that Wikipedia is neither a directory of every company nor is it a platform for advertising companies. I'm not saying that you were doing that, just that that policy informs every reviewer of a new article about a company. When I look at the draft article Draft:PBS Systems I see that the reviewers left you notes about notability "Notability " on Wikipedia has a meaning that is different from the use of that word in regular English. Here it generally means that there is significant coverage of a article topic (person, company, etc.) in reliable sources that are independent of the topic itself.
Of the 10 sources your draft cites, sources 1, 3, and 5, are directly from the company. Sources 4, 6, 7, and 8 (all the Canadian Auto World cites) are also questionable. While they are published by an industry outlet, they are obviously in form simply reprinted press releases. Source 10 is unverifiable, which breaks a core rule for sources. That leaves source 2, which also comes from that same industry outlet and is very promotional. In short, none of the sources show that there's any reason anyone not directly connected to the company would want to know about them. This is why the draft has been rejected.
If you still want to try to create this article then you will need to provide sources that don't have those same flaws and you will have to be more balanced in the text. Phrases like "...was designed from the outset to centre around the customer, rather than a departmental transaction" are more suited for a software release announcement than an encyclopedia. I hope this helps. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 17:56, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Eggishorn (talk) Thank you. I really appreciate your help. I will stop here for now and revisit once we have a reliable sources. how can I request to delete my draft? Thanks Nice0903 (talk) 19:22, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nice0903, I would suggest that simply leave it alone. Abandoned drafts are automatically deleted after 6 months. The deletion of drafts that only one author has contributed to is generally non-controversial but there have been other people who have made edits to this draft. It is probably best to let the normal clean-up take its course. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 20:29, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
