January 2015[edit]

Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons. Thank you. Snuggums (talk / edits) 04:19, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Katy Perry. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 06:36, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Howdy and welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you were trying to add some links to images on the Katy Perry article. Unfortunately, Wikipedia does not allow images to be hosted elsewhere on the internet. They have to be hosted on Wikipedia (or Wikimedia commons) servers. In general, to be hosted, they have to be public domain or released under a creative commons license (cc-sa-by), which is rarely true of celebrity photographs. If you want more details, check out uploading images. Thanks again for the contribution, and sorry no one explained why they were reverting your edits. --TeaDrinker (talk) 22:21, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

March 2015[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia. Snuggums (talk / edits) 20:24, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure why you got such a harsh warning. The reason your edits were reverted is that they must be cited to an external source, rather than Wikipedia itself. There's actually a guideline on that, WP:SELF. But of course, there are a lot of guidelines and no one expects that a new user knows them all. It looks like your contribution is fine, we just need to improve the reference. Instead of citing to Wikipedia, we can cite to the source that was cited in the note (except the Swedish one, which seems to be dead). Let me know if I can help with this, and I will note this with Snuggums. Let me know if I can help (you can leave a note on my talk page, User_talk:TeaDrinker. Thanks for the work! --TeaDrinker (talk) 02:19, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
