Deletion[edit]

Hi, thanks for message. Please add your messages to the bottom of the talk page, or they may be overlooked. Note that this was the eighth time this article has been deleted. I deleted your article because

  • It was previously deleted after a deletion discussion, see the message above which explains this.
  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. The only source is the company's own website, not neutral.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: It is dedicated... It offers patented products...
  • it's all about what the company does, little about the company itself other than an address. How many employees? Turnover? Profits? Has the company ever received negative publicity? Who are its competitors? Basically, this is just promoting the company's products, not telling us about it.
  • Thank you for suggesting other article for deletion, you can nominate them yourself if you wish. I think RSA is a mistake, it's just a disambiguation page. I'll look at Safenet and VASCO Data Security International later.
  • For your information, Feitian is number 1 in China Asia, providing the biggest banks in the world (chinese of course) Bank of China and ICBC, but since you dont seem aware of the situation since you are writing about birds — where was that information in the article? I can only assess what's there, it's for the article creator to do the research.
  • ... why don't you delete the Coca cola page?— your reason?

I hope this helps, Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:17, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've deleted Vasco, which appears to have been promotional in tone from day 1. I looked at Safenet, but I felt there was too much referenced text for deletion. Instead, I've removed most of the text, which was basically unsourced promotion. I haven't looked at Coca Cola. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 09:33, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for message. Please add your messages to the bottom of the talk page, or they may be overlooked.
  • The two pages you mentioned were not unambiguously promotional and are not suitable for speedy deletion. They could be edited to change the tone, or alternatively they could be sent for a deletion discussion with the {{subst:AfD|pg=reason}} template. GBfan acted correctly in removing the speedy deletion tag, and, as I said above, I didn't speedy delete because I didn't feel that it was the correct procedure.
  • Please assume good faith. GBfan is an experienced editor who acted perfectly correctly. The fact that you don't agree doesn't make him/her guilty of anything
  • Yes, there are people who have an obvious conflict of interest and edit on behalf of companies they work for directly or indirectly. Sometimes they get caught

These are the articles which have achieved Good article status. You don't need anything like that length or level of detail, but it's worth taking a look to see what sort of things are included and the general tone of an article. For company articles, you need to make sure that the article is factual and avoid non-neutral language. I'd suggest that you write the article here initially. Sandboxes are not immune from deletion if they are obvious spam or copyright infringements, but they give you a chance to get the article into shape before it's thrown to the wolves. You asked on the now-deleted talk page: Since only the G4 was used to delete it, does it mean that the company name is doomed forever on Wikipedia? How can you compare what was written before with what was written lately?
Administrators can view prior versions. While your version was different than the prior ones, the content in your version was even less substantial than prior versions. Also, there was no credible assertion of notability, which would have qualified the article for speedy deletion under WP:CSD#A7 anyway, in addition to WP:CSD#G4. Ranking near the bottom of a list of 500 for "fastest growth" isn't a credible claim of notability.
If the company never achieves notability as defined by WP:CORP, then yes, it is doomed forever on Wikipedia.
I suggest you build this article in your own user space, either in your sandbox, or create a sub-page User:NickyLarson29/Feitian Technologies Co., Ltd.. That way you can work on it at your leisure without someone coming along and speedy-deleting it. Make sure it complies with WP:CORP in that it references significant coverage by reliable independent sources. Drop me a note when you're done and I'm happy to review it, and if it looks good I can move the article to main article space. ~Amatulić (talk) 12:16, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
