Welcome![edit]

Hello, Nicolecorn98, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Parenting article[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia! Glad to have you contributing. I'm especially glad that you're working on Parenting, as that article could use some serious cleanup. There are a few things that I think it could be helpful to keep in mind when editing the article:

1. Make sure to only mark as "minor" edits that change very little. Correcting a spelling mistake, for instance; see WP:MINOR.

2. When adding a new source, try not to remove previous ones unless those sources are simply no longer necessary. I've noticed a couple times that you've swapped out a source in a ref that had a name parameter (looks like <ref name="thing">); that changes the source for every other instance of its use in the article, which can lead to unintended consequences. While swapping out sources entirely is often the right move, it can sometimes remove useful information. There's also nothing wrong with having multiple sources for a statement, so long as it doesn't veer into WP:OVERCITE territory.

3. If you want any advice for editing, be sure to check out WP:TEA. It's a great place to ask questions; I still ask questions there regularly.

Thank you! Do you know how to put those articles back in? Nicolecorn98 (talk) 17:24, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I somehow missed this reply--don't worry about those sources, I added them back in. Keep up the good work! Lkb335 (talk) 18:33, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
