Paso Robles AVA

I reverted your edit to the Paso Robles AVA article on 9 February 2009 because I felt that your addition of an external link violated the Wikipedia guidelines on external links. Specifically, external links are to be avoided to "Any site that does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a Featured article." There is nothing unique about the information contained in the Vinisimo site, and the facts presented in the Vinisimo article are unsourced. Typically, when people add such external links, they are doing so to promote the web site (in this example, Vinisimo) rather than genuinely contributing to the Wikipedia article content, and thus is considered "link spam".--Kharker (talk) 19:13, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry but I wouldn't have put that link if Vinismo didn't have more information on the subject. Plus I dont really see how Vinismo is not a unique resource. Do you know any other wiki about wine? Also, about the lack of references: does this apply to external sites as well? Lots of external sites put on WP articles don't have references in them. And that's fine since they're clearly marked as external references. So why would Vinismo be punished? Especially since it is a MediaWiki-based, CC-BY-SA licensed Wiki open for anyone (REALLY ANYONE) to edit?

USANA Article Help Request

I'm a fellow Wikipedian that focus' primarily on editing the Wiki article for USANA. USANA is a Multi-Level Marketing company of Nutritional and Health Care Products located in Utah. Earlier this week a French language program, La Facture, did an episode on USANA and I'd appreciate it if you would be willing to watch it and perhaps add a new section to the article about the content of the show. Hi Jean. I actually watched the show last week. It was prsented as a typical Ponzi scheme, but with the usual rigorous investigation process of La Facture. What they did is they went with a hidden camera to an information session in a hotel where people were promising huge benefits (such as 20k$ income a month) and then they interviewed the main representative for Usana in Quebec and tried to have him tell what the chances of getting such income with Usana really were. He admitted that only a fraction of Usana sellers could achieve the much-publicized thousands of dollars of monthly income. That's pretty much it. Actually the main thing about the hidden camera scenes were the tone of the sellers trying to persuade the journalist/fake-reseller that they was gonna do hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. The words they used, the tone, the acting, everything smelled like swindle a mile away... like anytime someone would be selling a job to you. Which is the bottom line of how to recognize a Ponzi scheme. Cuz, you know, real jobs are usually not something you are being sold. Nikolai35 (talk) 03:10, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
