Regional power

Please, stop sabotaging my contribution, which you did on the Regional power page. According to Wikipedia rules, most widely accepted names must be used! For further evidence, please refer to the United Nations legal documents[1][2][3][4][5] and historical maps[[6]]. So, I ask you politely to correct your mistake and use the full and legal name, Persian Gulf. If no correction is made, I will have no choice than to fix the error, in accordance with Wikipedia rules as well as all the evidence that exists contrary to your claim. For a well-documented name like this, a consensus is not needed, since I have given you enough sources to verify the validity of the name. Regards. --84.23.140.26 (talk) 00:50, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I have no issue with your edit. I think it was just jumbled with the IP who removed cited content. Sorry for the error. Nirvana888 (talk) 01:15, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks for your understanding. I just want to make sure that this historical name is not being distorted, within the framework of the Wikipedia rules. Best wishes. --84.23.140.26 (talk) 08:29, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
This has been awarded to Nirvana888 for gallantry in the face of insults and legal threats after he perused the belief and finally proved that Lear 21 was actually creating socks to disrupt multiple articles. Phoenix (talk) 07:37, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Unblock request

This is user - Bluebulb. I've been blocked from editing articles and I think you were the one who tagged me for blocking. I am not a sockpuppet of any other user and would like to be considered for unblocking. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.160.124.122 (talk) 08:43, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I tagged your user page after you had been blocked by YM for alleged sockpuppetry. I see that you've been unblocked now and an glad that this has been resolved. I apologize for this error and look forward to your contributions. Nirvana888 (talk) 01:46, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

"Composite" Index of National Capability

Hello Nirvana888,

I come to you because you seem to be the person to go to for these articles, I discovered this article which appears to be based on original research, what's your opinion?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composite_Index_of_National_Capability

G. R. Allison (talk) 00:29, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Singer's Composite Index of National Capability is actually one of the best known models for measuring national capabilities and was quite groundbreaking when it was conceived. I do agree that the numbers in the table seem to be original research. I do not see a source for the values and suspect that the U.S. would be ahead of China when computed using CINC. BTW, thanks for joining the PIIR Wikiproject and a warm welcome. If you have further questions about the articles or other things feel free to leave me a message. Nirvana888 (talk) 16:51, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the help and thank you for the welcome. Is there a certain amount of time we should wait before acting regarding the unsourced values (such as removing the table after a month) or should the warning just remain in place to inform people as to the nature of the tables origins? G. R. Allison 17:55, 30 December 2009 (UTC) G. R. Allison 18:06, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
I think I would give the editor who created the table a week or two to reply. If there is no response and you can remove the table. Remember, the data will always be saved in the history so it's retrievable if a source is provided later. BTW, how do you like your new userbox? I've modified the layout a bit. The orange color was a bit too jarring for me personally. Nirvana888 (talk) 18:01, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Sounds like a good course of action. I do prefer neutral colours so it is an improvement in my opinion. I really should create a user proper page anyway. G. R. Allison 18:06, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Mr Pontiac back again

User talk:Thisissparta109 His new sock Xero675 (talk) 20:22, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for letting me know. I don't think you should be reverting automatically without first informing and explaining to admins and other editors. I tend to agree with that they are likely socks but others may not be as familiar with his/her and may think otherwise a priori. Let me know though I will try to keep an eye on him though I am not very familiar with India/Pakistan topics. Nirvana888 (talk) 21:03, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the help I just dont want his edits to stay on wikipedia once hes been confirmed by admins could you please revert his edits? thankyou 86.158.177.150 (talk) 21:07, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Mistake

Hi nirvana888 bad news I edited 3 articles to revert Mrpontiac1 edits (dont ask why I just did it) they are Chicken tikka masala, Border and General officer sorry for making yet another account but I had to remove his (Mrpontiacs) edits I know it was the wrong thing to do could you please look over the articles I have edited and remove Mrpontiac1s edits when he returns I will inform you whenever I make an account and inform you of pontiac when I see him hope you understand I have informed user:Elockid of this aswell could you please indef protect the articles and remove his edits because he will come back thanks Openplain09 (talk) 11:20, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

This is my latest account as promised I will tell you whenever I make one. With your permission could I just inform you or Elockid and Nsaum on yours/theres talk page whenever I see Mrpontiac1 or one of his buddys like Dewan so you can protect and remove there edits instead of making accounts and reverting there edits please reply back soon if you think its a good idea I have left the same message on Elockids talk page Slowjammerz3 (talk) 19:44, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
I've already said twice that I don't think it's a good idea for you to revert since you are not supposed to edit. If you spot something that is likely Mrpontaic you can let Elockid, nsaum or myself know on our talk page and WE will revert it in due course. I hope you understand because if you revert then it just makes it much messier because anyone can revert your edits. I also don't think it's necessary to create an account every time you want to want to leave a message because I don't htink that it allowed either and it will be blocked anyway. Trust me, we know your IP and can recognize you. Hope this helps. Nirvana888 (talk) 21:59, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Ok, but...

Yes, I agree with you. But, I could write what they did in the Economy of Romania article. Rather than saying 'Italy has overtaken the UK', we could write 'It is predicted that by the end of 2009, Italy will overtake Great Britain by GDP nominal'.

Does that sound ok?

Italy never over-took the UK economy. Recon.Army (talk) 09:30, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Indeed, my point to the IP was that we should wait until 2009 GDP figures are calculated to see if Italy did indeed overtake the UK as the Telegraph suggests. As the recent IMF Database reports it has not and the UK retains a larger economy. I would however quibble with your assertion that "Italy never over-took the UK economy" as it did briefly in 1987, which was dubbed in Italy as "Il sorpasso ("the surpass" in Italian). 209.212.23.42

You might want to check out the 'contributions' of 209.212.23.42 (talk), it seems to be undoing a lot of your revisions. Sock puppet perhaps. Neo-Vortex (talk) 16:15, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Yes, thank you. Quacks really loudly. I will report him. Nirvana888 (talk) 16:17, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Good call on blocking GeneralBoss3 (talk). How did the other person know the unregistered user was this guy? Did someone have to do a CheckUser request? I'd like to know how we can all look out for sock puppets. Thanks! --CreativeSoul7981 (talk) 18:09, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Message from GoonerDP

This is reference to your warning about my edits on "six sacred stones". While my tone about the wrong information presented by the author may have been strong, my point was exactly right. Matthew Reilly didn't do research before calling them as Pillars of Vishnu, the destroyer. If anyone does a simple google search, it takes a few seconds to get that information. Yet he didn't do it. That's what I pointed out. And you warn me for that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GoonerDP (talkcontribs) 04:55, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

I'm glad that you notice that the tone of your edits are wholly inappropriate. Please read a few core pillars for starters: WP:NPOV, WP:OR, WP:V, WP:RS. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer. But please do not make any more inappropriate edits or else you run a serious risk of being blocked long-term. Nirvana888 (talk) 01:46, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Just so you know.

Hi there, just to inform you for future reference, I am migrating my G. R. Allison account to MrGRA (talk) for personal reasons. G. R. Allison (talk) 08:18, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Sorry I didn't see your earlier message, but thankyou for that! Still a way to go! Midway (talk) 14:38, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
