"Sheikh"s in titles and other miscellaneous items[edit]

I have moved Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi to Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi to Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi and Sheikha Alia bint Khalifa bin Saeed al Maktoum to Alia bint Khalifa bin Saeed al Maktoum. Thanks for bringing them to my attention.

If you encounter any others, you can do it yourself. At the very top of the articles, you will see several tabs. Just to the right of "history" you will see "move." Select "move" and then in the "To new title" box, remove "sheikh" from the name. In the "Reason" box, provide a reason for the renaming (such as "sheikh(a)" is an honorific title and is not a part his/her name). Then select "Move page." If you have any problems, let me know.

Now I would like to comment on many edits you have recently been making. I noticed that you have been changing the spelling of several words (such as centre, criticised, neighbour, etc.). These words are in their British English spelling and you changed them to the American English spelling. On Wikipedia, it is a policy to use the English that is most commonly associated with the article. You have made many edits to UAE-related topics. In the United Arab Emirates, British English is the style of English that is used. Do not change centre to center, or neighbour to neighbor because centre and neighbour are the spellings used in the United Arab Emirates. I hope this makes sense. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Now for dates. Dates should only be linked if it is a full date. Years (1900, 1971, 2000, 2008) should not be linked when they are all alone. If a month and year are together but do not have a date (December 1971; August 2008), then do not link them. If you have a full date with the day, month and year (2 December 1971; 23 August 2008) then you should put brackets around the day and month and another set around the year ([[2 December]] [[1971]]).

Here is an expample. The date is linked, but the month and years are not.

I was born on 1 January 1900. My worlwide expeditions began in August 1925. I returned in 1960.

Let me know if you have any further quesions about this also.

Now, I would like to direct you to Talk:Emirates of the United Arab Emirates. I started a discussion about the order of the emirates since we seem to disagree. Thanks.

Can give you a few more tips?
At Talk:Emirates of the United Arab Emirates, you said "I first thought that when i first changed them i forgot to save the page and thought to changed them back, didn't know you were the one who reverted my work." If you select the "watch" button at the top of the article, Wikipedia will put the article on your watchlist. When you select "my watchlist" at the top right of the page, you will be brought to your watchlist. Here you will see the most recent edit of each article you are "keeping your eye on." In the case of Emirates of the United Arab Emirates you would have noticed that I made an edit to the article. Watchlists also work for talk pages, so if someone starts a discussion you will be aware of it. Go to Help:Watching pages for more information about watchlists.
Also, when you write a message on the talk page it is always best to provide a signature. I noticed you have been doing this, but I may be able to help you out a little more. Instead of writing out the signature yourself, you only have to type ~~~~ at the end of your message. When you save the page, the four tildes will be replaced by your username, a link to your talk page and the exact time. See Wikipedia:Signatures for more information.
And while you are going through the wikipolicies which you mentioned, you may encounter something that might be different from what I said. If so, please let me know. I do not consider myself to be an expert on Wikipedia and I may have said a few incorrect things. Anyway, please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
