re Shusha[edit]

I reverted, with the summary "rv primarily for grammar reasons, but also what it says is neutral - it IS in the disputed region, and then it says it's in the NKR and Azerbaijan. this is the result of a long time of consensus, please propose changes to this talk page first. thanks". Basically, there's been a long dispute over how to describe it, but saying it's in the disputed region (which is true) and then explaining the dispute is much preferred to picking one side of the dispute right away. Also, keep in mind that our article for the country is at Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, not Nagorno-Karabakh. Now, you may have a point with saying it's part of the NKR right away - but please propose any changes like that on the article's talk page first, as the inevitable edit wars that come from people unilaterally editing NK-related articles will not be abided. Thanks.--Golbez (talk) 12:22, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I really think that the citations on this article needs to be formatted. If you click on "Cite" (above) then a drop done on will appear on the left top. You can select "web", "news", "book". Fill out the form with the information from the source and add it. I do not think that the article can pass without you do that.--Ishtar456 (talk) 21:11, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It has been a while since I first review it. Are you planning on making any changes? I do not feel I can pass judgement on the reliability of the sources unless I can comprehend the sources and I cannot as they are written. Please let me know if you plan to correct this so I can finish the review. Thanks, --Ishtar456 (talk) 22:53, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Kid Ink, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Proposed deletion of Alla Levonyan[edit]

The article Alla Levonyan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of any notability under WP:MUSIC, incl. releases, international profile or chart performance.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Karst (talk)

Hi[edit]

You have a stronger case in questioning the relevancy of adding his ethnicity, because his ethnicity was not the given motivation. Or else, and here you need to consult other Wikipedians, is if the event fit under discrimination when the perpetrator is diagnosed with schizophrenia. In most countries (including France) there can be no criminal charges left if mental illness was behind the said act (he was hospitalized after the event). In France discrimination is written in constitution and there are several other laws [2], but since a subject with mental illness can not be prosecuted, can there be claims of discrimination? Can there be discrimination if there can be no prosecution for it? Technically Parishan is in the wrong to add it under discrimination by this simple fact. Reason why I was against it being included in the article at the beginning. Furthermore people suffering with mental illness are more often than not a persecuted group and mixing those cases with deliberate and actual criminal acts open the door to discriminations against them. I changed my mind, because this info has to go somewhere. It's a complex issue, leaving his ethnicity we must add his mental illness, if we do that, we further add another group... or just removing Armenian. But it seems Parishan is set to keep it. I think you need a third opinion here. Yaḥyā ‎ (talk) 23:40, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I left a comment [3] in a userpage on this issue (if there can be said it's discrimination if someone can not be sentenced being criminally responsible). Yaḥyā ‎ (talk) 01:36, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah it might be a better idea to get more opinions on this. Also I agree with mentioning his mental health is definitely important and the whole case is too soon to tell.Nocturnal781 (talk) 04:17, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I see you have opened a case, I will comment when I have time (remind me if I forget). But just to note that I disagree with you on the reliability of the source. Reason is that we can assume that the Armenian organization which condemned the act probably verified prior to making such an official condemnation (don't you think?). What may stir conflicts is beyond mere use of unreliable sources. If an Earthquake only damages a community church, we can not use this as proof of discrimination on Wikipedia because no one can be held responsible for a crime. In this case the perpetrator was hospitalized and medicated just after the event and they considered his case was enough sever that they decided to renew his hospitalization rather than handing him to authorities. Even if we didn't have a case of mental-illness, we would still have a problem. When we say discrimination, we often intent job offers, taxations, intimidations... actions which generally go beyond one individual claimed-perceived retaliation... often in discrimination there is a form of universality in the act... car targeting group of Muslims is not an usual event in France. Adding that as an example of discrimination gives this impression that there is some universality and as such that similar grave occurrences of homicide (we're talking at attempting to kill a lot of people) attempts against Muslims in France isn't that rare. This is as far as I can come in wording what I mean. Yaḥyā ‎ (talk) 05:33, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I am just going by Wikipedia:NEWSORG which states reliable news sources would be mainstream news and Liberation.fr is not mainstream. I am not saying I don't believe he is or not but we don't have a reliable source to base that off in accordance to Wikipedia. Also the discrimination point you bring up sounds very valid, he seems to be mentally deranged. Someone with mental health issues can be persuaded by those around him and even the media easily. Since this case hasn't even went on accusing him of such seems to be wrong.Nocturnal781 (talk) 06:11, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes but when an information smells true, it will probably be confirmed afterward from other sources. So your argumentation on that noticeboard will probably be outdated later on because it is standing on things Parishan and we have no control on (availability of sources in dictating what happened or did not happen). We're not slaves of newsmedias. :) It is like arbitrarily throwing a coin to decide who win or lose between you and Parishan. :) There ought to be better ways to resolve issues.
Take Adam and Eve (I so love using the allegorical knowledge contained in religious literature, it never gets outdated) eating from the tree of knowledge of what is right or wrong...what is right or wrong is decided depending on the available information in the present, which may change...(when more info is found) it's temporary. If you feed your position on temporary things, it will be mortal. On the other hand, if you feed it from the tree of what makes a position imperishable, ... it will stand true irregardless of anything new that might be added.
I still maintain (and Parishan has to address it) that there is something inherently wrong in using as evidence of discrimination someone who committed an act in the course of a mental illness (and considered the gravest of it all, schizophrenia) outbreak. Those sufferers are already victims of discrimination in every sphere of society. He is also weakening the position that Muslims are being discriminated in France, as if no better examples could be presented. Yaḥyā ‎ (talk) 17:55, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I will be taking a break, but when I wrote that I agreed the case should be included in the article, I was not aware that they prolonged his hospitalization and decided to not hand him to authorities. If you decide to remove the entire case rather than just Armenian (which is what would be the most reasonable thing to do), you can add a link in the talkpage of the article the discussion we had here as rational. Bye Yaḥyā ‎ (talk) 18:33, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Herman Norton Barnum requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Disambiguation link notification for February 21[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Artem Dalakian, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Armenian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:02, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics[edit]

You have recently been editing Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts, which has been designated a contentious topic. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 10:25, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Zakaria Aguletsi moved to draftspace[edit]

Unfortunately, an article you recently created Zakaria Aguletsi, is not ready as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage with citations from reliable and independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. I've moved your article to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's WP:GNG guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Rescue of Armenians[edit]

Hi. I hope you are fine. I have removed a lot of unreferenced information. The new page review is one of the last approval stages, so when I see a page like this with a large amount of unreferenced information, and no {{In use}} tag to show that the page is undergoing a major build, I tend to err on the side of caution and remove the unreferenced information. The easiest solution is to add the tag to indicate the page in under construction. This prevents me and other editors from editing the page until the process is complete and the tag is removed. Please assume good faith of me, as I do of you. By all means add the information again when you can add the references. Best wishes, BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 04:19, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Nocturnal781,

This is regarding your recent edits on my draft page.

Thanks!
