Dear Editors

i need to edit the info in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naguib_Sawiris to be as follows:

Naguib Sawiris

Chairman & CEO - Orascom Investment Holding S.A.E. Chairman - Orascom TMT Investments S.à r.l. Chairman - La Mancha Holding S.à r.l. Chairman of the Board - Euronews Chairman of the Board - Ora Founder - Orascom Telecom Holding S.A.E.

Since joining Orascom, the family business, in 1979, Mr. Naguib Sawiris has continuously contributed to the growth and diversification of the company into what it is today – one of Egypt’s largest and most diversified conglomerates and the country’s largest private sector employer. Mr. Sawiris established and built the railway, information technology, and telecommunications sectors of Orascom.

As the Founder of Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH), Mr. Sawiris has dynamically led the growth of the company, to be the leading regional telecom player having operated GSM networks in over 28 countries in Africa and the Middle East, including Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, Tunisia, Iraq, Pakistan, Bangladesh and more than 15 countries in Africa. The company’s subscriber base reached up to 380 million people. OTH’s success story culminated in the much-publicized merger deal between Wind Telecom, the mother company of Orascom Telecom Holding, and VEON (formerly VimpelCom Ltd.) in April 2011. At the time, the merger created the world’s sixth largest mobile telecommunications provider by number of subscribers.

Today, he is Chairman & CEO of Orascom Investment Holding, a holding company with a diversified investment portfolio targeting high-growth industries that are critical to shaping the future, including financial services, destination development and telecom.

In 2012, Mr. Sawiris has led the full acquisition of La Mancha Holding, an international gold producer, and is Chairman of its Board. In 2015, La Mancha closed two landmark transactions; where La Mancha Australia was swapped into Evolution Mining to create the second largest gold producer in Australia, and La Mancha Africa swapped into Endeavour Mining to create Africa’s third largest mining company. La Mancha is the single largest shareholder sitting on the board of both companies.

Mr. Sawiris is also Chairman of Ora, a company undertaking high-end real estate developments in various prime locations around the world including in Egypt, Grenada and Pakistan. Recently, it launched Ayia Napa Marina, an exclusive integrated development embracing two spectacular towers promising to unveil a new era in modern beachfront living and transform Cyprus into a prime luxury destination in the Mediterranean basin.

Mr. Sawiris has management control over several assets in the media business. In September 2015, he managed the acquisition of 53% of Euronews, the most watched news channel in Europe, through Media Globe Networks (MGN), a company owned by the Sawiris Family. Following the recent entry of NBC into Euronews through a capital increase, MGN increased its ownership to 60% of Euronews. In Egypt and the Middle East, the Sawiris family has ownership in several newspapers, portals, and a leading media representation company.

At international and regional levels, Mr. Sawiris served on several boards, committees and councils:

- Former Member of the International Advisory Committee to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) - Former Board member of the International Advisory Board to the National Bank of Kuwait - Member of the External Advisory Council of the Global Institute for Advanced Study at NYU - Founding member of the London Stock Exchange’s Africa Advisory Group - Member of the Board of Trustees of the French University in Egypt (UFE) - Member of both the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of the Arab Thought Foundation - Vice-Chair of Sawiris Foundation for Social Development Mr. Sawiris is also the recipient of numerous honorary degrees, industry awards and civic honors, including the Honor of Commander of the “Legion d’Honneur” (the highest award given by the French Republic for outstanding services rendered to France). In July 2011 Mr. Sawiris was awarded the Honor of Commander of the Order of the “Stella della Solidarietà Italiana” (Star of Italian Solidarity) for his outstanding contribution to the Italian economy through the investments he led in Italy. In 2006, the prestigious “Sitara-e-Quaid-e-Azam” award was conferred upon him by General Pervez Musharref for services rendered to the people of Pakistan in the field of telecommunication, investments and social sector work. Mr. Sawiris holds a diploma of Mechanical Engineering with a Masters in Technical Administration from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zürich) and a Diploma from the German Evangelical School, Cairo, Egypt. He speaks Arabic, English, German and moderate French.

Recent edit reversion[edit]

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 15:32, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
