The article Malcolm Isaac Maxwell Earl Of Nithsdale has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Earldom of Nithsdale[edit]

As this title is generally considered extinct following the attainder of the 5th Earl in 1716, you will have to provide very good evidence to convince us that there is a chance of the title being revived after nearly three hundred years. The last possible claimant to the title was the 5th Earl's son, who died in 1776 without male heir. His title of Lord of Herries of Terregles passed to his daughter, but the Earldom could only pass to a male. Peridon (talk) 18:31, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
