Earldom of Nithsdale

As this title is generally considered extinct following the attainder of the 5th Earl in 1716, you will have to provide very good evidence to convince us that there is a chance of the title being revived after nearly three hundred years. The last possible claimant to the title was the 5th Earl's son, who died in 1776 without male heir. His title of Lord of Herries of Terregles passed to his daughter, but the Earldom could only pass to a male. Peridon (talk) 18:31, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
