Paa tal

Glad you retagged it. However, it's not a hoax in the sense we use it here. In other words, it's not a load of bollocks made up to make Wikipedia look silly. It may well be a load of bollocks, but there are plenty of ghits (not guaranteeing reliability, but what with this sort of stuff is reliable?), so it could be notable bollocks or redirectable to someone or something. A questionable reference to illustrate: http://thetruthisviral.tumblr.com/post/26952063703/alex-collier-the-paa-tal-we-are-an-ancient-race Peridon (talk) 20:28, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Hello,

You undid my edit, where I corrected my own name. The article is "Yogscast".

Please adjust "Liam MacKay" back to "Liam J. MacKay".

Thanks!

Sorry, I don't understand. Please clarify your issue. Noom talk stalk 23:21, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

You deleted my entry on the Julius Streicher page saying it did not appear "constructive". By that, I assume you mean that showing how the allies tortured the German prisoners before hanging them might make the Nuremburg Trials appear to be an act of revenge rather than justice. But, do you feel leaving out this vital information (in effect lying) does truth justice?

The torture of Juliua Streicher

Hello. By "constructive" I assume you mean that showing how the allies tortured the German prisoners before hanging them would make the Nuremburg Trials look like an act of savagery rather than justice. But, are you concerned at all that by hiding the truth you are lying? Here is Streicher discussing how the allies tortured him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rcBM_w-2K8Pgg804 (talk) 02:13, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Youtube isn't a reliable source. It was therefore reverted. Noom talk stalk 03:38, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Feedback oversight

We're still working out, both on- and off-wiki, exactly which feedback needs to be oversighted. But for the time being, we are only removing content that contains private, personal information, such as phone numbers, home addresses, and names connected to email accounts. Typical spam and vandalism are simply being left hidden, and I appreciate that you take of that. Cheers. Someguy1221 (talk) 04:35, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for the clarification. Noom talk stalk 09:39, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Re South Korea

Hello! Thank you for your help. I brought from Japan's wiki As you pointed out. I think because it was too one-sided article of Korea, and you want to do something. South Korea currently has carried out the invasion of Japan. Started secretly cultural, demographic from 20 years ago, to 10 days of this month has been illegally occupied to dispatch ("DOKUTO" landing ship) warship to Takeshima and finally president.

Can you also see the article in Japan? It would be greatly appreciated if it could help us create a fair article. [1] The relationship between Japan and South Korea

>>Hi Anonymous sensible, the content you are adding to South Korea does not appear constructive to the article. It appears to be a machine translated version from the jp wiki(?) and has been reverted in good faith again. Hi, I'd recommend you ask for more help at Talk:South Korea first, as Materialscientist suggested. Noom talk stalk 01:25, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

request for deletion

Hello you requested deletion of my project article claiming it not to be "notable" enough. I promptly saw the merit in this reasoning (referring to the guidelines) and have since deleted. I notice now that cryptogps is search queried as a deleted wiki article. In 2 weeks or a few months will I be able to re-submit the article under the exact same title? By then it will likely be considered "notable" since will be published through my university etc. Thanks for your time! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cryptogps (talkcontribs) 12:09, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for reading the guidelines and I hope you enjoy your stay here :). Any deleted article can be recreated. If you would like a copy of the deleted article, ask here and I will try and retrieve a copy for you. When recreating the article in the future, make sure it is notable has reliable sources and consider preparing it in userspace before moving it. Articles may be tagged if you plan on slowly working on it in the article namespace.
Additionally, you may want to look into requesting a username change as your username may violate the username policy. Sorry to dump additional policies on you, just making sure you're aware of any possible problems you may run into :). If you have any questions, please feel free to ask here, at Wikipedia:QUESTIONS, or on your own talk page, placing {{helpme}} before your question.

Merging, Deleting, and Referencing Questions

Hi there and thank you for the welcome! I'd like to help with the Soap Operas WikiProject and have some questions on Wiki procedures.
1. Here is an example: Cody Paul is stub that I could include a cleaner version of on the List_of_General_Hospital_characters_(2000s) page. After which from the FAQs it looks like I should replace the stub with a redirect, does that change the stub status and/or are there circumstances where the stub page should just be deleted? (if so what do I do in that case?)
2. Wondering if you could point me in the right direction on this. There are pages categorized as start-class in this project I'd like to help with. I'm guessing a lot has to do with referencing links, do you know of any documentation that I could read to learn how to help correct referencing with fictional/soap character pages?
Thanks so much for your time, I'm very new at this!
Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 17:23, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi, it's easier to read your comment in the editor if you use new lines rather than <br> :).
  1. If you merge the stub into the list, the stub needs to be redirected to the list and the article can be changed to a "redirect" class article, rather than a stub.
  2. General referencing guidelines are here and WikiProject Soap Operas has some general style guidelines here.
Don't hesitate to ask any more questions you may have :). Noom talk stalk 17:53, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
Thank you! Another question - I'd like to help some of the soap articles get better category ratings by adding references. Is there an approval process for the article to receive a higher rating or do individual users just change it? Thank you! Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 15:14, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
Hi, for an article to be a Featured Article (FA) or Good Article (GA) class, they have to be reviewed and listed as such. You can find more information at WP:FA and WP:GA respectively. For other classes, the article only has to be meet the WikiProjects Quality Scale, which is available here. If you're unsure what quality class an article is, ask for help on the talk page and another editor will hopefully come and help judge the articles quality. Hope this helps, Noom talk stalk 15:35, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Hello, my aplogies if I'm not posting this message in the correct place. I am new to Wikipedia, & it's VERY confusing at first. This is a reply you posted to an email I sent referring a username change request:

"Clerk note: The username appears to be promotional. Use of a company, organization, group, celebrity, or product name as a username is prohibited by the username policy. Please choose another name. Noom talk stalk 18:07, 19 August 2012 (UTC"

The entire thing is posted below. I want to say that I DO NOT want to change my username for promotional reasons. I want to be consistent with, and keep the integrity of the company image. I want my Wikipedia page to be a place people can go to learn the history of my barbershop, and how it came to be. Please change my username or delete my account so I can create a new one with exact spelling. It would be the same if "Coca-Cola", or "Microsoft" requested a username change if the username was set up wrong. Thank you.

Hi, the username you requested appears to be against the username policy. Specifically, this line from the policy:
"Usernames that unambiguously consist of a name of a company, group, institution or product (e.g. AlexTownWidgets, MyWidgetsUSA.com, TrammelMuseumofArt). However usernames that contain such names are sometimes permissible; see under Usernames implying shared use below."
I am only a clerk at Wikipedia:Changing username meaning it would be better to keep the discussion over at your request. Noom talk stalk 18:39, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
Oh, sorry, I think we've misunderstood each other here. If you're looking to make an article about Augie's BarberShop, then you can just create that article (as long as it is notable). You're username (which is what you've requested to change) is not the name of the article. However, your username is still against policy, and you still should pick a new one. Of WP:CHU/Simple & WP:CHU/Usurpations - Thanks

Hey Noom.
Thanks for the heads up. I've filed the request. Here's a funny thing: both account use the same email add!
That aside, the WP:CHU/Usurpations instructions requested that the applicant leaves a formatted comment on the SUL account talk page, and for the other account to respond in the affirmative on the same page.
However, a robot clerk Subsequently wrote the following under my application:
"The target username has made edits to Wikipedia. Due to licensing concerns, this may be a barrier to usurpation."
Hilarious. Hope everything is in order though. Fingers crossed and all. Thank you for your assistance. --Misha Atreides (talk) 17:39, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
