Hi Noommos, how's this one, New Jazz Aliens' Record Label? — Preceding unsigned comment added by LividLegend (talkcontribs) 01:05, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

References for living people:

Thanks Noommos, I'm not really sure of appropriate references here - will look at this straight away.

LividLegend (talk) 00:30, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi LividLegend, having sources for articles about living people is important here at Wikipedia. Fortunately, a single reliable source will satisfy this requirement. Trying using the links provided on the page or try using Google if you don't get any hits. When looking on Google please make sure it is a reliable source. Thanks, Noom talk stalk 00:37, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi Noommos,

Have included New Jazz Aliens page at SBS Records, showing Justin's membership of the band. How's that?

LividLegend (talk) 01:08, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi again, unfortunately the source you added is not reliable, so I'm going to keep the proposed deletion tag on for the time being, make sure to read this. It's also possible that he simply isn't notable enough for inclusion. Check the guidelines on notability criteria for musicians and related entities. Thanks, Noom talk stalk 01:15, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Have combined Record label with 2 verifiable album releases, as per the guidelines on qualification, are we getting closer?

All the best, LividLegend (talk) 01:26, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi Noommos,

Because of the archive nature of most of these events, links are proving hard to come by!

If I remove specific references to events, and replace them with a general comment such as 'various television appearances' can we proceed on te strength of the 2 New Jazz Aliens albums at major retailer - iTunes? Something along the lines of 'jazz performer with New Jazz Aliens, various radio and television appearances etc?'

I can then dig a bit deeper in a future edit and put the original wording back when refs sourced, if you'd be happy with a less contentious entry including a short description of work as a jazz performer with the Aliens, date of birth etc. and a less-specific reference to media appearances.

Hi Noommos,

After much searching I have located the precise back issue of BBC Radio Times in which the S4C Christmas show with Jenny Ogwen is listed. The programme aired on the 18th December 1997, and the Radio Times publication is Issue RT3854 (13th-19th December).

I've listed the issue number and broadcast date under references - may I now replace the content about the show?

Rollback and thank you!

Hi - thanks for rolling the GH Cast page back to before all the incorrect formatting changes! I was wondering what the best way to do that is going forward - is there an official place I can request someone to rollback a series of edits? Thank you! Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 17:56, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Your request to block 65.32.171.92

I've declined your request for now but I have left a strongly worded warning at User talk:65.32.171.92#Administrator's warning saying to make no article edits without first gaining consensus for them on the article talk pages. If this person ignores these instructions, please let me or another editor know and we will block them.

Thanks for watching out for our content! --A. B. (talkcontribs) 20:55, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Now blocked. --A. B. (talkcontribs) 21:04, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. Noom talk stalk 21:04, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
The block is for 2 weeks. They may come back with a new IP or username in the meantime; if so, they should be blocked immediately. In that case, just let the admin you report them to know the history of this IP. Otherwise, mark 2 weeks on your calendar and we'll see if they resume then. --A. B. (talkcontribs) 21:11, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
I'll keep an eye out. Noom talk stalk 22:41, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi there - this user/IP is back and making disruptive edits again. As an example, the ones I just undid at Brenda Barrett. I'm not sure of the process to reblock? Thanks! Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 22:30, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Don't worry, already spotted them. Since their last edit was an hour or two ago, I will leave a 4im warning and hope they've stopped. Noom talk stalk 22:31, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
Okay thanks! Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 22:33, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
A quick guide to vandalism: To deal with vandalism yourself, you can revert it using the (undo) button or by using the Rollback (Vandalism) that's available if you're using Twinkle. Then you can open their talk page (it will automatically open if you're using Twinkle), and leave an appropriate warning template from the list at WP:WARNINGS (in this IPs case, I chose a rarely used template, a 4im warning template).
You should always start at level 1 if they haven't edited before. The other levels can be used if the vandalism is something nasty, like a personal attack or a legal threat. The template page shows you how to add the warning to their page, just make sure to add your signature .
If there's already a lot of warnings for the user this month, or the user has reached a level 4 (or 4im) warning (and then edited after receiving the warning), you can go ahead and report the user to be blocked at WP:AIV. I think AIV will tell you how to report a user, but they only take cases where the edits are blatantly vandalism, for example, the second time the IP was blocked, the blocking sysop denied my request at first, and tried to communicate with the user, before finally blocking them for editing against consensus.
Lastly, only warn them if the incident was recently, this IP would have been borderline, but since they've just come out of a block, I believe it was warranted (maybe even a little soft).
If you're not sure about an edit, or what template to use, your more than welcome to leave me a message (I'm probably around ), or try and ask another editor and they'll help you out. Hope this wasn't too much, Noom talk stalk 22:46, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
That was great thanks! I will bookmark those links. Thanks for always answering my questions! Take care! Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 23:15, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
Happy I could help Noom talk stalk 23:20, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi. I'd moved Vehicule Poets to remove the WP:THE without realizing that you'd already moved it to the new page, with the article. Sorry, I just didn't check the article history when I spotted it in the WikiProject Canada new article list. WP:THE when it comes to group names is really unclear, and you may very well have been right in your move, and me, wrong. In particular, the publication of the eponymous collection with the article is something I should have taken into account. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 16:23, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

In this instance, I think WP:THE supports the inclusion of The, as the article is referring to the group name, and the sources (generally) seem to refer to them as The Vehicule Poets rather than Vehicule Poets. My original page move was to attempt to fix the creators C&P move, which took it to an incorrectly capitalised title anyway. Noom talk stalk 16:36, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I can see now you're probably right. To my pleasant surprise, I was able to move the page back to where you had it (thought I would need admin assistance). I've got to run now but can do any further clean up as needed later. best, Shawn in Montreal (talk) 16:46, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Archive question

Hi there, hope all is well. I'm wondering how to set up an archive on a talk page that doesn't already have one. Specifically Talk:List_of_General_Hospital_cast_members but there are some others. Does it have to be done with a bot? I'm not familiar with using those :/ Thanks!! Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 18:17, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

Hey Kelly, see this for when it is appropriate to condense a talk page. Unless the page is generating a lot of discussion, automated archiving shouldn't be necessary. This should explain how to manually archive and also how to set up automatic archiving. My talk page is an example of automated archiving, ClueBot III is set to archive old discussions on this page (you can see the archiving config at the top of the page). Hope this helped, Noom (t) 18:30, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
Perfect - those links were exactly what I was looking for. Thank you! Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 18:35, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

Hello. I've logged in to my home wiki and made an edit at my talk page certifying my request, as required. Stricoswald (talk) 17:56, 17 September 2012 (UTC)

Past articles

Hi there, just dropping by with another question that I was hoping you could point me in the right direction. Is there a way I can access or request past articles that have been deleted?

Reason I ask - from this category page, it looks like there used to be independent articles for Felicia Jones and Frisco Jones. Both characters now redirect to their "supercouple" page, and I'd be interested in using the old articles to either improve them enough to reinstate them, or at least add them to the character list by decade pages.

Thanks! Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 21:08, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

Hey Kelly, the content you've requested still exists . Although the page(s) currently redirect to the list, they still retain their edit histories [2]. The content you want for Felicia Jones is here, but Frisco Jones never had a separate article, it has only ever been a redirect. If you do need a copy of deleted content in the future though, check the page has been deleted by going to History, and checking View logs for this page. you can then ask whoever deleted it for a copy, or you can ask someone from Category:Wikipedia administrators who will provide copies of deleted articles, explaining your intention. Hope this helps, Noom (t) 21:42, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
Perfect - thanks so much!! Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 23:10, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

Page Curation newsletter

Hey Noommos/Archive2012. I'm dropping you a note because you've been using the Page Curation suite recently - this is just to let you know that we've deployed the final version :). There's some help documentation Wikipedia:Page Curation/Introductionhere that shows off all the features, just in case there are things you're not familiar with. If you find any bugs or have requests for new features, let us know here. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 11:57, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
