Hooj Choons[edit]

Please accept my apologies for the long delay in replying.

The deleted article said very little - that it was a record label set up in 1990, dissolved in 2003, and "In early October 2006, Hooj Choons announced that the label would be coming back under management from the owners of Lost Language."

There were versions in the history with a good deal more information, but that had been removed because of the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy that: "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source" - this is not a place for personal reminiscences.

The article was deleted under a process called WP:Proposed deletion, which means that it will be automatically restored on request; however in its present state it would get nominated at WP:Articles for deletion, a different process involving a week's open discussion of whether it should be kept, and I do not think it would survive. (I'm sorry to introduce the Wikipedia bureaucracy like this - it's a maze, but there are human guides!)

If Hooj Choons was in fact revived in 2006, and has done things since then, it might well be possible to write an article about it. There is good advice at WP:Your first article; the basic criterion for inclusion is called Wikipedia:Notability, and looks for references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." If you think that is possible, the best way would be for me to restore the article into a page in your "user space" where you could develop it.

There is an existing article about Lost Language, but it is pretty thin, and I doubt whether it would survive if challenged on notability grounds. I wonder whether a joint article would be the best idea?

Hooj Choons restored[edit]

Another user, an IP, has enquired after the article, so I have restored it - see User talk:JohnCD#Deletion of Hooj Choons, and urge you to help improve it, else it is likely to be nominated for deletion. Check out the WP:Tutorial, WP:Your first article and WP:Notability (music). JohnCD (talk) 21:59, 17 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
