New Zealand Māori rugby league team[edit]

Hi there. Given that that Māori Allstars link back to the New Zealand Māori rugby league team, I was wondering what made them a wholly separate team, given that the Allstars version do not have their own article. Happy to be wrong, and that there is a difference, just not seeing one based on the information available. It may not be the best example, but Tongan international players do not have their years split in two because of their governing body.Fleets (talk) 06:41, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I'm not certain whether a difference has specifically been clarified by the NRL, but there are articles distinguishing the Indigenous All Stars from the 2008 Indigenous Dreamtime team despite both linking to the same page such as Preston Campbell and Jamie Soward. While I wouldn't argue that they are a wholly separate team, I do think it would be better to distinguish the difference in concepts as seen with the Indigenous All Stars. With the Tonga comparison, the few players who represented the Maori before the All Stars concept was introduced was around 10 years ago and were participating for a different premise, being international fixtures.
