If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

• make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or

Speculation has no place on Wikipedia

Do not add speculation that Yanokovic removal from power damaged Ukraine's economy. Speculation has no place on Wikipedia. Besides there is also speculation that his presidency was damaging Ukraine's economy. Case in point: in a March 2014 an Ukraine’s economy analysis in The Economist they do mention speculative information that $37 billion had gone missing during Viktor Yanukovych’s rule, but it does not talk about Yanokovic removal from power damaging Ukraine's economy (it does made clear that Yanukovych’s Azarov Government weakened the state’s finances). — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 16:47, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

I believe any issue with national stability contributes to this sort of thing, especially considering the war in Donbass and annexation of Crimea. Note that Economist article you just linked even says "The economic turmoil reflects recent political instability.", which given the timing (5 March 2014) implies that it is probably referring to the change in government. It also mentions neither Crimea nor Donbass, and does not tie Russia to the then-current situation in Ukraine. Nuke (talk) 22:45, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Shishani

His rank was anything but too low. I have now added half a dozen sources (including DoD/Pentagon) confirming his significance in and to ISIL as war minister or minister of war, which is basically a defence minister (which is a term a few of the sources also use). However, for the sake of compromise, I will put war minister, instead of defence. PS The designation wasn't given by News24, but by a US official quoted by News24 (also quoted by the Guardian). Israel in the Syrian civil war

I'm not sure how long you've followed the discussion, but this has been up countless times, and the result has always been the same. Israel and Syria have been at war since 1948, and Israeli strikes relate to either this old conflict or to Israel's conflict with Hezbollah. It's convenient for the Assad regime to accuse the rebels of receiving Israeli aid, but rebel factions have made similar accusations towards the Assad regime. This type of rhetoric was also used in the first Libyan civil war, and is overall very common in the Arab world. Best, --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 13:55, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

I didn't consider this while editing the infobox, but yes, I added a couple more reliable sources. There are already numerous pages on Wikipedia which show Israel as a belligerent in individual battles. In any case, I thought the consensus was that Israel shouldn't be included because they only rendered medical support for the opposition. However, looking at the page you linked, it seems that for a broad amount of reasons (probably "non-major combatant" most significantly), they dismissed it for a different reason. I apologize. The airstrikes are related to either Hezbollah, Syria's support for said organization, or crossborder stray fire. You have provided nothing new, and none of your sources make Israel a combatant in the Syrian civil war. --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 14:46, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Right. The attacks on Damascus, which is far from the combat near the Golan Heights, seem unrelated to all three, although it's convenient to associate air strikes on Damascus amidst a civil war where the rebels are backed by Israeli allies such as the United States with the terrorist group Hezbollah. The point is that Israel's conflict to Syria both predates and is unrelated to Syria's internal conflict. Listing Israel as a combatant in the Syrian civil war is like listing it in the Iran–Iraq War because of Operation Opera. --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 15:27, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
