Command & Conquer (video game) article sourcing[edit]
Nyerguds, seeing as how your technical expertise is greater than my own, mind if I ask that you try to source the "Bonus Missions" sub-section of "Single-player" in the Tiberian Dawn article a bit further? - My problem is mainly that I know C&C1 so well I got more information than anyone anywhere online. This makes it hard to both obey the no original research rule and provide acurate information. For example, the "-cd" command line parameter in C&C1 (which is an inbuilt beta feature which makes the game run without CD) is used in the First Decade pack, and mentioned in official documentation of the 1.02 patch, but its use is never explained by any official sources. I know how it works, but am I allowed to explain it on Wikipedia? Also, if I have a website on which I publish my own research, can I link to that from Wikipedia? - The best answer I can give to both your questions is basically this -- "let's just try and see how it goes". I'm aware of several Wikipedia policies related to video games, and I try to keep the C&C-related articles from clashing with them whenever I can. I think we can definitely try to include this kind of information you are able to provide if we go about it the right way, but keep in mind that this means that concessions will have to be made. As a recent example: I've had to trim the Tiberian Dawn section I recently asked you to source by no small amount, in order to avoid this lovely tag being placed:
This article contains instructions, advice, or how-to content.- So yeah. Let's just try various things, and we'll deal with the issues as they arise. As I see it, that's the best approach we can take at the moment. Kalamrir (talk) 13:31, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
