Shirley Setia age[edit]

And re: this edit, you keep changing data without providing better references. The existing reference was this article from 2014 that called her 21. You sort of (because you then delete it) use a 2018 source that seems to rely very heavily on content relevant to her breakout circa 2014. So how exactly are you going to argue that she is 22 four years later? At this point you need to use the article's talk page, because this is starting to look really ridiculous. Last note re: the Shirley Setia age issue. You again submitted this without discussion. Please don't resubmit this again. There is a clear discrepancy about the subject's age, based on the significantly dated 2014 New Zealand Herald source. Since you haven't quite addressed how these other reliable sources could be so wrong about the subject's birthdate, it seems like something we need to discuss as a group. Initial mentions of her age in the years were not accurate as she was not quoted on any of those interviews herself. The more recent headlining interviews given by her has her age mentioned as 22 as of today ' ' DNA' ' an article dated Feb 12, 2018, The Hindu an article dated JANUARY 05, 2018, Millenium Post an article dated 11 Jan 2018 and TVNZ an article dated May 18 2016 and Forbes an article dated March 19 2016--Nzytfan (talk) 22:56, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

So sorry I didn't see this before you resubmitted the content you were asked not to resubmit. You need to open a discussion on the article's talk page and present your case there so that people interested in the subject can evaluate the arguments you are making. If you resubmit the content again, your editing privileges could be interrupted. See WP:BRD, which requires you, actually, to seek consensus if your edit is reverted. According to this article from 2014, the subject was 21 at that time, so it's really unclear how she got younger as other sources reported on her. You're free to hypothesise and present whatever arguments you wish on the talk page, but until a new consensus is achieved, the status quo should be maintained. Note also that it's common for actors to lie about their ages, take for example Disha Patani, whose age has been called into question by reliable sources, or even Mariah Carey, whose age has also been called into question. The fact that you say "initial mentions of her age ... were not accurate as she was not quoted on any of those interviews herself" doesn't really matter, since (like I said) actors can lie. If a reliable source published an age as they knew it, it's presumed that they did the fact-checking at that time. Who are we to trust? A publication that stated her age with no protest from her at the time, or recent articles with questionable updated dates? How old do you think she was exactly when she released the songs that went viral? Those details should be presented on the talk page, with references. Oh, and in case you missed my reversion edit summary: NZ Herald in 2014 calls her 21 here a 2016 source calls her 22 here a 2018 source calls her 22 here, so something's obviously amiss about her reported age(s) and if you care about this, the burden is on you to figure out what's going on.
