Anti-vandalism Barnstar![edit]

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
To Grim Littlez for being a a fellow partner in fighting vandalism, hoaxes, blatant ads, and other nonsense on recent changes. Keep on fighting the good fight! *highfive!* I, Jethrobot drop me a line 06:43, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Re: userbox[edit]

hi Grim Littlez, i've never created a userbox so i'm not really sure, but this page looks like it tells you what to do. hope that helps -- The Elves Of Dunsimore (talk) 07:38, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. The PROD that you seconded at Hottest 100 Australian Albums Of All Time has been removed by the article creator. I've had to start an AfD. Your comments would be appreciated. Fly by Night (talk) 14:17, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

PassmoreLab[edit]

Hi there, would you explain to me why you tagged the article "PassmoreLab?" It said it was advert but I am unclear as to what part of it is advert. Could you, perhaps, give me some specific directions so that the article can remain? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wenchiac (talkcontribs) 22:50, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agha Shorish Kashmiri[edit]

Why did you decline the speedy deletion of Agha Shorish Kashmiri? I've done several searches and NOTHING on this person came up let alone that can establish notability. I am confused. You didn't even tag the article up or anything and you're an admin. I'm not coming at you, but I get confused with some of the practices here. It is inconsistent. KING OF WIKIPEDIA - GRIM LITTLEZ (talk) 23:45, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for the note. I declined the speedy because the article asserted the significance of the subject. Additionally, a Google test is not sufficient for speedy deletion since sources may be found in non-English sources. If you feel the article does not meet inclusion standards, you are welcome to tag it with {{PROD}} or send it up to WP:AFD. Regards, causa sui (talk) 23:50, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate signature[edit]

I believe calling yourself the "KING OF WIKIPEDIA" is inappropriate. Were that in your actual username, you would likely be forced to change it (as it indicates a false position of authority). I respectfully urge you to change your signature. Sven Manguard Wha? 02:35, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

short language articles[edit]

Hi,

In language articles, the language code in the info box links to the SIL site on the language. (SIL maintains the ISO codes for languages.) They have basic info on the language—speakers, location, maps, bibliography—that generally covers what we have in our stubs.

The language family stubs could also be so referenced, but we seldom bother, so in those cases a no-ref tag would be appropriate. — kwami (talk) 03:59, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, no problem. They aren't ref'd in a way that's easy for a new reader to spot, but it's good enough to verify the article's not a hoax. Any significant expansion would require better refs. — kwami (talk) 07:56, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of Uxian Defile[edit]

You wanted me to do something with the article of Battle of Uxian Defile. But I have no idea what. Can Iget some sort of pointer in the right direction?SteveMooreSmith3 (talk) 05:37, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks man, first article I've written, so I'm feeling my way along in the dark here, if you know what I mean.SteveMooreSmith3 (talk) 05:43, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Altered speedy deletion rationale: Gadhshisha[edit]

Hello Grim Littlez. I am just letting you know that I deleted Gadhshisha, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. Danger (talk) 13:55, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The misinformation is yours.[edit]

4 misdemeanors are 4 different sentences, one year each. Not a combined 4 year sentence. A person cannot be put in a Florida state prison for misdemeanor charges, no matter how many of them there are. Niteshift36 (talk) 21:26, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Perhaps this will help you: "Inmates who committed felonies and are sentenced to at least a year and a day are sent to state prison in Florida, and are under the jurisdiction of the Florida Department of Corrections. Inmates who have not yet been sentenced, or who are charged with misdemeanors, and/or who have been sentenced to less than a year are housed in county jails."[1]. Combining them doesn't make a 4 year sentence. It is 4 (up to) one year sentences. Niteshift36 (talk) 21:36, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I live here, have spent copious amounts of time in court as the arresting officer and have worked in corrections. Of course none of that means anything here, but I'm not pulling stuff out of the air. Niteshift36 (talk) 21:43, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New page patrol[edit]

Hello Grim Littlez, I noticed you doing some new page patrolling. One tip when patrolling new pages is to check the history of the page. You added some maintenance tags to Jabbar al janabi, but if you'd checked the history, you may have noticed that it was tagged as a copyright violation. The bot was correct in tagging it as it was copied and pasted from another website without permission and as such can be speedily deleted. Don't worry, it's easy to forget to check the history, but that's something you might want to start doing. More obviously though, you added the {{unreferencedBLP}} template to the article. As a BLP created after 18 March 2010, the article could have simply been PRODDED, according to Wikipedia:Proposed deletion of biographies of living people. That way, an unreferenced biography won't hang around indefinitely waiting for someone to add references. --BelovedFreak 09:02, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank for your reply. Just to clarify—it's not so much that you shouldn't add maintenance tags if there is a possible copyright issue, but it's just good to be aware of the issues. For example, if it's a blatant and obvious copy/paste of a website that claims copyright (or doesn't have an obviously compatible license) then feel free to tag for speedy deletion under WP:CSD#G12. If you're not sure, or are not comfortable judging (copyright problems can be complicated or more subtle) then don't worry about it, but it might be a good idea to replace the bot's tag if you see it has been removed. Sometimes the bot has false positives and the article creator removes the tag in good faith, so that's fine. When the copyvio bots tag articles, they also list them at WP:SCV, so it's not big deal if the tag is removed because someone will check it eventually, but it just means problems may go undetected for a bit longer. One last thing, if you notice something that looks like a copyright violation that hasn't been tagged by the bot, you can list it at WP:CP. PS. No my message wasn't automated! :) --BelovedFreak 09:16, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, obvious (or "unambiguous") copyright violations get speedily deleted - unless there's a clean version that you can revert to, or unless it can be rewritten, or unless it's just a small part that can be removed. Infringing material can also be removed from the revision history of an article using Revision deletion, although this can depend on how complicated the article history is and whether attribution may be lost. If in doubt, you can always get advice at Wikipedia talk:Copyright problems. Yes, the duplicator tool is very handy. --BelovedFreak 10:25, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Hendrell D. Remus[edit]

Hello Grim Littlez. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Hendrell D. Remus, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: claim of an award is (just) enough to pass A7; I will AfD. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 09:17, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

As to your comments. Sometimes the truth is just not good enough I guess. I wish that editors had to back up their claims with citations before they delete facts as well as when they insert them. I think to some it is not a search for the truth but a childish game. I agree with you. Also, thanks for your anti-vandalism efforts. They are sorely needed on Wiki. Mugginsx (talk) 10:03, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Liz Davenport[edit]

I assume you came across the Liz Davenport article whilst new page patrolling. I've read User talk:Lizdavenport777. I think it might have been better to point Lizdavenport777 at WP:COI instantly. For myself, I'd prefer that we rejected attempts by individuals to co-opt wikipedia for their own publicity purposes, as Davenport unambiguously is doing here. That sort of behaviour does not deserve approbation nor support. --Tagishsimon (talk) 10:42, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Khesar village[edit]

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Khesar village, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! TerriersFan (talk) 11:53, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Will you please note that schools are not eligible for speedy deletion under WP:CSD A7. This is clearly stated on the template. I am also concerned that you proposed Algonquin Middle School for deletion within a minute of creation. Plainly you didn't carry out the due diligence recommended in WP:BEFORE, for example looking for sources or considering a merge or redirect. The first article that many new editors write is typically about their school. Though this is often misguided, for their work to be proposed for deletion so quickly must be very discouraging and is likely to drive them away. Better, I suggest, to guide them as to what is required and allow a few days for them to try to source the page. TerriersFan (talk) 18:51, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
