some questions about steganography[edit]

Hello,
I hope I put my question properly, I'm kind of a newbie...
I saw your picture in the steganography subject (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:StenographyOriginal.png) and I would like to know how you did it. I'm trying to find a good (if possible) GNU software able to do it.

Not sure how to do it right (I'm sure there's a way), but this almost works (using Imagemagick):
convert img1.jpg img2.jpg -fx '((u*255)&252)/255+v/85' test.png
