referencing for long-finned pilot whale article

Hi @Offshoreorca:,

I like the work you've done with the long-finned pilot whale article. I just wanted to suggest that you use formatted referencing rather than just the "ref" tags on each end. Each type of reference has its own versions but they all basically follow the sample template:

Books: Template:Cite book

Journal Articles: Template:Cite journal

Websites: Template:Cite web

Essentially you just give parameter headings to everything. This allows automatic retrieval of the information later, indexing by searching engines, etc. I have correct the references in the pilot whale page appearance section so you can see what I mean.

Referencing is one of the most important goals of the SMM WikiSprint, so keep up the great work!

Hi @ShaneGero:,

I am completely new to working with wikipedia, so in the tutorial I was most familiarized with the "ref" tags. I didn't really get around to dealing with the references yesterday (I have the supporting references for the parts I've updated that I hope to add in and fix today). Thanks for the suggestions! I will look at your work and continue from there. My goal is by the end of the week to have a much stronger article then what was previously there.

Hi @Offshoreorca: Thanks for letting me know why you removed most edits. I did cite the neurons at the beginning but the references were removed later by another user called @Rlendog:. When you get the chance to add the anatomy and physiology section, you can add my neuron info there since I'm still not experienced in adding sections to any websites. Meanwhile, I hope you don't mind having it added back (cited of course):
