Finding patronymics?

Hi, there. I'd like to know how you came up with Mr. Pritychenko's patronym. I occasionally copy-edit biographies about Russians and other East Slavic individuals, and I've rarely had luck tracking down the patronymics. My technique has been googling the subject's given and last names (in Cyrillic), which is rarely successful.

Zabrama

I notice that you created a disambiguous page for Zabrama which included a red link. DAB links MUST link to pages that already exist in Wikipedia. Please see MOS:DABRL. Do not revert. Thank-you David.moreno72 (talk) 01:43, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

@David.moreno72: Not true: a red link is permitted—although by no means recommended—when it's linked from at least one article and is plausibly notable. See MOS:DABRED. The link in question satisfies both criteria. Rebbing 02:14, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

But there is no 'a village in Russia' article

A link to a non-existent article (a "red link") should only be included on a disambiguation page when an article (not just disambiguation pages) also includes that red link.

When the Zabrama article has been created, THEN link to it.

I Googled Zabrama and it doesn't seem very notable at all so it will likely never be created, per

Do not create red links to articles that are unlikely ever to be written, or are likely to be removed as insufficiently notable topics.

Read your first quote. The non-existent article Zabrama, Bryansk Oblast is linked to from Boris Pritychenko—an article. That satisfies the first requirement. As for notability of foreign subjects, the unavailability of English-language sources on Google can be misleading. (Did you search for "Zabrama" or "Забрама"?) My Russian isn't good enough to evaluate the results, but I'm unable to say with any confidence that it's "likely to be removed as [an] insufficiently notable topic[]." Anyway, if our rule was that editors must create articles before linking them on disambiguation pages, the Manual of Style would simply say: "No red links." But it doesn't. But the article Boris Pritychenko wasn't on the DAB page, instead it said a village in Russia, which is not an article. A DAB entry needs a link that will eventually have what is being disambiguated in the target. That was not the case in this instance.David.moreno72 (talk) 03:34, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

You miss the point. Let me try again:

1. Zabrama, Bryansk Oblast is a red link;
2. Zabrama, Bryansk Oblast appeared as a red link on the disambiguation page;
3. Boris Pritychenko, an article, also has a red link to Zabrama, Bryansk Oblast;
4. Therefore, the red link Zabrama, Bryansk Oblast that appeared on the disambiguation page satisfies the instruction at MOS:DABRED that "[a] link to a non-existent article (a "red link") should only be included on a disambiguation page when an article . . . also includes that red link."

No, I am not the one missing the point. See MOS:DABMENTION It states If a topic does not have an article of its own, but is mentioned within another article, then a link to that article should be included. In this case, the link does not start the line, but it should still be the only blue wikilink The link to the article hasn't been included. There is no English wikilink. All it says is 'a village in Russia'
