AfD nomination of Spectacular Times[edit]

Spectacular Times, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Spectacular Times satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Spectacular Times and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Spectacular Times during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Jmlk17 11:09, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "Scientific freedom"[edit]

A page you created, Scientific freedom, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, organisation, or web content, but does not indicate why its subject is important or significant.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. DavidWS (talk) 14:52, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Scientific freedom[edit]

I have nominated Scientific freedom, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Scientific freedom. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Fred Clarke[edit]

Hello there. I noticed Frederick Clarke after your edits to J. H. Oldham which I had created not that long ago. I added a little to it, including a reference to the ODNB, otherwise it might not have survived very long. Charles Matthews (talk) 10:25, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure it would have survived. Anyone who was knighted is automatically notable per WP:ANYBIO. That is why I added the references tag and didn't speedy tag it or propose it for deletion. If you start a new article you should add references otherwise it is up to others to verify the information. In this case the information is easily verified and the article should not be deleted by any diligent editor. You may want to have a think about where the article is placed. I moved it because article names should not include the person's title. I couldn't move it to Fred Clarke because that page already existed. You might prefer the page to be at Fred Clarke (Academic) but it appears that his name was Frederick so this was the easy solution. You might also want to place a disambiguation link on Fred Clarke, the sportsman. Polargeo (talk) 11:08, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

You do not simply copy File:Bô Yin Râ (1935).jpg from the German Wikipedia with no source or licence info. The correct procedure is: go to de:Datei:Bô Yin Râ (1935).jpg and tag it for transfer to the Commons. When this has been done, it will be available for use here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 01:59, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Category:Round churches in England (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) for merging into Category:Churches in England (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at the discussion page. Thank you. Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Jerry Hicks (trade unionist). The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Jerry Hicks (trade unionist) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

1. notability fails based on either criteria

1.1 Wikipedia:Notability_(people)#Victims nothing else notable 1.2 Wikipedia:Notability_(people)#Politicians local polititian 2. improper self ref 3. orphan 4. acting like advert 5. every sentence is disputed/unrefenced 6. future notability may be clear - until then article should not assist as advert

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Widefox (talk) 14:06, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The deletion of an article you created, Tim Jackson (environmental economist), has been proposed for the following reason:

Not notable, also Unreferenced BLP.

You are welcome to improve the article to meet Wikipedia's quality standards and remove the deletion notice from the article. You may also remove the notice if you disagree with the deletion, though in such cases, further discussion may take place at Articles for deletion, and the article may still be deleted if there is a consensus to do so.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy. You may wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Erith and Thamesmead (UK Parliament constituency), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Belvedere (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:57, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for June 4[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Critical realism (philosophy of perception), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://historyandtheory.blogspot.com/2007/09/critical-realism.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.
