This is being posted on your Talk page where you can receive messages from other Wikipedians and discuss issues and respond to questions. At the end of each message you will see a signature left by the editor posting. This is done by signing with four ~~~~ or by pressing or in the editing interface tool box, located just above the editing window (when editing). Do not sign edits that you make in the articles themselves as those messages will be deleted, but only when using the article talkpage, yours or another editor's talkpage. If you have any questions or face any initial hurdles, feel free to contact me on my talk page and I will do what I can to assist or give you guidance and contact information.

Where would you like to start[edit]

  • Many new editors make the mistake of joining the Wikipedia Editor Corps and then immediately creating their first article. To me, its like driving on the expressway within 10 minutes of first sitting behind the steering wheel. It can be done but there are going to be a few accidents during the learning process. That said, I will be happy to assist you with your article. I have already done a few edits. Go to the history of the article and compare what you did to what I did.
  • The best lesson to be learned at this point is detachment. Don't get so attached to your edits that you are willing to fight over them. Every editor that you meet is a collaborator. Some don't realize that fact and see themselves as adversaries. That is their mistake. I'm sure you will understand what I mean as you wander WP.
  • I respect this opportunity that you have given me. To teach. Any sterness you may discern is only my attempt to be brief and clear in my explanations. Have fun editing. ```Buster Seven Talk 17:54, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks, i try to be a good student. i really didn't think this process is that complicated. at the end, it is probably better so. wikipedia has to be careful what is being posted.--151.240.234.248 (talk) 07:39, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • my questions. there is now two reference headings, i like to delete one but keep the links. I ma afraid that i might mistakenly delete them all, how should i do it? secondly, in your expert opinion, are the references valid ones for wikipedia? lastly, i like to post couple of pics. one of the artist himself and one from one of his paintings. I think i am restricted on that. would it be possible to e-mail them to you and you post them on this page? thanks for all your help. --Omid1970 (talk) 07:45, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

Note: I am seperating my reply from the above w/ a sub-thread (using===/===) only as an example. This allows future editing without having to view the whole thread.

  • wikipedia has to be careful what is being posted....Very True. Editors have different concerns. One of my basic concerns is for the Reader, our Visitor. Will they be informed (?) or confused by what, and how, I am editing?
  • i like to post couple of pics. one of the artist himself and one from one of his paintings.... I'm not real competent w/ photos/pictures/etc. I know you will have to go to WP:Commons first and get them on file there before they can be shown on Wikipedia. Maybe you can learn the process over there and teach it to me?
  • there is now two reference headings, i like to delete one but keep the links....I'll check it out and do what I think is right. ```Buster Seven Talk 14:38, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Double references?  Done. Check history at article to see how. ```Buster Seven Talk 14:50, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
