Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited AT-1K Raybolt, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Yemeni Civil War (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

I designed a law enforcement unit infobox that uses the style/layout of Template:Infobox military unit such as colours, one image, headings, and incorporates elements from military unit and Template:Infobox law enforcement agency. March Madness 2020

G'day all, March Madness 2020 is about to get underway, and there is bling aplenty for those who want to get stuck into the backlog by way of tagging, assessing, updating, adding or improving resources and creating articles. If you haven't already signed up to participate, why not? The more the merrier! Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 08:19, 29 February 2020 (UTC) for the coord team

Notability of T99 (camouflage)

I've started a discussion at Talk:T99 (camouflage), to which you might like to contribute. The topic does not appear to be notable, and currently has just one source, which appears to be unreliable. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:37, 25 March 2020 (UTC)

Camouflage template

I'd also be really grateful if you'd refrain from annotating the Camouflage template. This is the top-level navbox for the whole subject, and it is meant to contain only the most significant topics. Variant camouflage patterns (let alone uniforms) do not belong there. I'm happy to discuss but the template is already quite large and it must not become cluttered. Many thanks for your co-operation. Chiswick Chap (talk) 13:01, 26 March 2020 (UTC)

Strichtarn, etc

Hi, you may well be right that this should merge with Rain pattern, but if so, you need to propose it on the talk page as well as putting the tag on both articles. I'm not sure that Strichtarn isn't a better name than Rain pattern actually. I'd suggest you read WP:Merging carefully and familiarise yourself with what it says. Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:50, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

@Chiswick Chap: Strichtarn makes much sense in this case. Ominae (talk) 10:41, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
Well, in that case why don't you just go ahead and merge immediately to Strichtarn. Neither article is much more than a stub and neither has adequate sources. Chiswick Chap (talk) 10:58, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
I guess that would be the case. Ominae (talk) 11:01, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

I see you've merged the article, thanks.

However, you've also added multiple links to https://flaechentarn-kraus.hpage.com which is, as it sounds, a personal homepage: Not a reliable source. These all need to be replaced with a textbook, museum, or academic journal source, please. It would help enormously if you could study WP:RS carefully; you might also find Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Notability guide#Independent sources useful. Military history really does demand the best-quality sources, and I'm afraid that personal blogs, even from knowledgeable enthusiasts, do not come close to that standard. I've removed the unusable sources and put the two Imperial War Museum sources into citation templates. However, obviously, that leaves the article needed additional reliable sources per WP:N. All the best, 10:54, 29 March 2020 (UTC)Chiswick Chap (talk)

@Chiswick Chap:, I'll have to leave it like that for the time being. Can't access any books that can help. Ominae (talk) 11:23, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
Why don't you take a look at Google Scholar on "rain pattern" camouflage? There are one or two usable articles there including "Arming genocide in Rwanda" by SD Goose, F Smyth in Foreign Affairs, 1994 which is available on JSTOR, for example. Chiswick Chap (talk) 11:33, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

DYK nomination of Netherlands Fractal Pattern

Hello! Your submission of Netherlands Fractal Pattern at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Gog the Mild (talk) 18:44, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

Citation errors

Hi, I'm not sure if you're aware that you are creating a trail of sfnp template errors in multiple articles? I corrected some but have now realized that a) you didn't read my comments or pay attention to the corrections and b) you are still making the same errors, so here we are.

Here's an instance in Lizard (camouflage):

  •  Soviet Union: Spetsnaz advisors to FAPLA wore Cuban-made lizard camos.{{sfnp|Galeotti|2015|p=16}}

... "Bibliography" ... * {{cite book |title=Spetsnaz: Russia’s Special Forces |last=Galeotti |first=Mark |year=2015 |publisher=Osprey Publishing |isbn=978-1472807229}}

Notice anything wrong? ...

... look at it carefully ...

Here's the answer: Harv error: link from CITEREFGaleotti2015 doesn't point to any citation.

Why? You omitted |ref=harv from the {{cite book ......... |ref=harv}} template.

Another thing: it would be wise and good practice always to put the author first (as the citation wizards do, why don't you use a tool?). And it's no good sometimes using "|location=" and sometimes not: the field isn't necessary and in Camouflage we don't use it, so please leave it out. This gives

* {{cite book |last=Galeotti |first=Mark |title=Spetsnaz: Russia's Special Forces |year=2015 |publisher=Osprey Publishing |isbn=978-1472807229 |ref=harv}}

Something else: you should be using {{sfn| not "sfnp" as we're also using "|p=123" as the standard form. This gives

{{sfn|Galeotti|2015|p=16}} as the standard form, or |pp=123-125 if you need a page range.

One more thing: there are some ISBN errors in that article, they should all begin with 978- ; you can use the ISBN converter at https://www.isbn.org/ISBN_converter to obtain the new 978- forms (assuming your old ISBNs were correct ... unfortunately, books often print ISBNs wrongly on the back!).

There are similar errors in numerous other articles that need fixing please.

All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:07, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

@Chiswick Chap: Weird. I thought that I avoided that. I'll look into it again. Ominae (talk) 10:07, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
