Block[edit]

I've blocked you for 24 hours for repeatedly deleting content on the Pink Floyd talk page. Simply deleting comments is unacceptable. Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia policy and attempt to work with others rather than acting unilaterally in the future. —Spangineer[es] (háblame) 00:19, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

it made no sense to keep that up, when they removed the links anyways. I am very upset with how this page is handled. Deleting comments is not unacceptable if they are no longer relevant. Thats called EDITINGOnanisland 00:31, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know you think it may make no sense, but in the interest of preserving a record, blanking article talk pages is not done. If the page gets too long, we can archive, but if there is active discussion going on, it must remain on the talk page. Furthermore, you need to understand that wikipedia is run by consensus. That means that if most people disagree with you, you won't get your way. I know what it feels like to be on the side of the argument that no one agrees with, and I know that it isn't fun. But that's the way Wikipedia works, and that's not going to change any time soon. —Spangineer[es] (háblame) 00:49, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I understand, but I dont think I am out numbered in this argument, read over the talk, there are many people sick and tired of these two editors aggresive behavor towards links. I have read on forums accross the net of people stopping coming here because those two dont allow anyone but themselves to do anything. There is wrong info and now no links because they feel they rule this page. If they decide to take the links off, the least they could have done was leave the link to a site that holds all the links, but no they wouldnt even allow me to post that. If you ask me, they need to be dealt with as well, and the links deserve to stay because they hold sites with a welath of info not avalaiable here.Onanisland 01:08, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I looked over the talk page, but I don't see a large number of people supporting the addition of more links. There was one person a month ago who wanted to add a link, but that was rejected by several editors, including a few who haven't said anything this time around. As far as I can tell, the two editors you are referring to are both trying to stay in line with wikipedia policy, which is laid out in WP:EL. Fansites are only allowed if a consensus of editors thinks they should be there, and as of now I don't see that. Feel free to convince me otherwise by providing evidence, but at this point, again, I don't think it's there. —Spangineer[es] (háblame) 01:52, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well have a look at their user disscusions for one, and I could also link you a few forum links where people have talked about it around the web. Also Anger 22 so thoughtfuly claimed I am the webmaster of the site and cant grasp that i was just trying to help bring knoldege to the article and not "sell T-shirts" Also one of them claims that adding just the link to the site that hosts all the fan site links as there idea, when it was my idea to begin with, and they removed it and called it vandalism. Read through their user talk, they act like dictators on this page and dont allow anyone elses contributions. Im not going to fight this to much farther, because it doesnt benefit me really, but I think these two need to lighten up and let others add to the article.Onanisland 02:27, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You know what, to hell with it. Let them run the page however they want. There is better info elsewhere.Onanisland 02:55, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, my name is Randy I am the webmaster of Outside The Wall. I have a little brother that I have had guardianship of since my Mother died of a heart attack two years ago. Yesterday he was suspened from school for fighting with another classmate. While he was home and before I left for work, I had asked him to search for Pink floyd directorys and try to submit links to my site. This turned out to be a bad idea on my part. I have two girls of my own and am trying to raise him and them correctly. It is a hard task. There is a big difference in our age and he is very inmature. Not to mention we lost another brother in Iraq in 2004, it has been a hard time for all of us. I found about about this because a moderator on my forum contacted and told me he had made a post and linked it here of which my moderator deleted. I have banned him from my computer and disabled his internet capabilitys on his until he can work off the money to pay for his own. I want to personaly apologise to the editors of this page for my bad judgment and for his behavior and assure you he will not be returning here. After reading over the posts he has made here, I cannot believe how much he has lied and what he has done. Needless to say he is troubled. You and the editors should consider putting back up the sponsered fan pages Like Fleeting Glimpse and Brain Damage, they have been great sources of Info since I have been on the net and I would hate to see them loose traffic because of my bad judgment. Its amazing how a simple task can turn into a huge mess when a 15 year old is at the wheel. Once again I am sorry and I hope you can all understand. I will personally contact each of the editors once the block has been lifted. Randy webmaster Outside The Wall
