Thank you

Hey, WikiFan!

I know this is a bit late, but I just wanted to thank you for supporting me in my RFA. Thanks to everyone who supported me, I am now an admin! I have used my powers to help further Wikipedia, and I wanted to thank you for making that possible. Thanks! Linuxbeak | Talk | Desk 00:12, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)

Penny Brown

There are quite a few reasons I deleted the Penny Brown article. Just for reference, I deleted it under criterion number 1 of the criterions for speedy deletion. Anyway, the article was a one-liner which provided no context, was self-referecing (Penny Brown is a child's name whis is part of the Penny Brown hoax), offered no external links and asserted no notability. To top it off, it was not wikified. I try to be as moderated as possible when it comes to deleting articles, but you have to draw a line somewhere. If you want to re-create the article providing actual context to it, you are welcome to do so, but at the state it was, it cannot be considered a stub. See Wikipedia:Stub for reference. Cheers. --Sn0wflake 21:45, 10 July 2005 (UTC)

Terry Stotts

In response to your query on my talk page, he wasn't announced at the times of the edits: Wikipedia is not a crystal ball (BTW, your initial edit mispelled his name). --mtz206 23:43, July 10, 2005 (UTC)

Buff (colour)

Because of improper americanisation - the page was started at Buff (colour), with UK spelling, and it was moved without authorisation to american spelling, and that is not correct wiki etiquette - MPF 22:25, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

Depends on the situation. In an American topic, or place-neutral topic, yes. In a British-context or International English-context page, no. It is all in the wiki style guide - MPF 22:43, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

Re: Admins

Hi Wikifan!

Well, I (generally) am not one to base my votes on edit count, but a general rule of thumb is to have at least a thousand edits before one is nominated for adminship. Hope this helps. Linuxbeak | Talk | Desk 12:30, July 31, 2005 (UTC)

Adminship

You had asked Linuxbeak about how many edits should a user have to apply for adminship. Well, the thing is, you can submit yourself for adminship any time, but most users expect an admin to have at least 2000 edits and at least 3 months of experience(see WP:RFA) Sorry 'bout bursting your bubble!--May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| r 3 $ |-| t |-|) 16:22, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

Well... if that's the case, I'm an exception to the rule, because while I accumulated a good deal of edits, I was only on Wikipedia for under three months. Don't base normality on me, though. Linuxbeak | Talk | Desk 23:59, July 31, 2005 (UTC)

The Image

That image you showed me seems to indeed have been reverted already. The only thing I can think of is that your cache shows it as the old (medium old?) version. I can only suggest clearing it out. Linuxbeak | Talk | Desk 01:39, August 7, 2005 (UTC)

New Busch Stadium

Do you think we should rename this page "Busch Stadium III"? Maybe there should be a "Busch Stadium" ambiguois page that would have links to all 3 Busch Stadiums. The current Busch Stadium page should then be reitiled "Busch Stadium II" and "Busch Stadium I" should redirect to "Sportsman's Park". Let me know what you think. --CrazyTalk 17:02, August 9, 2005 (UTC)

At 03:14 on July 19, 2005 (UTC), you said that you would de-stub Smoochum. Are you going to? If not, please leave a note here and it will be re-assigned. Thank you. --Celestianpower hab 20:13, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

When you move a page and do a disambiguation like that, it's always best to go back and make sure all the pages that point to the old link now point to the new one. I'm still not quite sure the page needed to be moved (the notice at the top of the page seemed sufficient), but I will go back and change the approrpiate Q-Tip links to Q-Tip (rapper). If you are currently online, I would appreciate the help. --FuriousFreddy 09:48, 19 August 2005 (UTC)

Re: My RfA

I edit quite a lot of generic stuff really; when I'm on NP patrol, I often spot articles that I take under my wing for a while, even though I may have zero interest in the subject. I'm not adverse to the odd bit of cleanup, and I'm also a participant in (and a founder of) WP:FAD. Rob Church Talk | Desk 23:28, 28 August 2005 (UTC)

New

Yeah, I'm not sure how I managed to confuse that. I meant "short on edits." Andre (talk) 00:09, August 29, 2005 (UTC)

rope stretcher revert

Your revert removed the correction to add the proper attribution by Strabo please be more careful in the future Rktect 10:33, August 29, 2005 (UTC)

do not worry much about, as Rktect is known to intimidate those who remove inappropiate material. Use your judgement, be bold. -- (drini|) 01:31, 30 August 2005 (UTC)

Re:RfA

As per [1], your edit counts are below the adminship expectations of most users (mine is at least 1000). Also, you should provide edit summaries. I hope you will continue your good work. You will certainly get adminship, when you deserve it. utcursch | talk 06:42, August 30, 2005 (UTC)

Sockpuppet?

No, it doesn't mean that. I meant that a certain recent vote was subject to all sorts of silliness such as sockpuppetry and lengthy redirects. The two mentioned kinds of silliness are not related. Radiant_>|< 09:41, September 3, 2005 (UTC)

See ya

Didn't mean to call you a newbie BTW... I just wanted the admins to be a bit nicer. Take care, hope your next RfA goes though Ryan Norton T | @ | C 19:39, 4 September 2005 (UTC)

Your WP:PAC assignment

Although I realize you are no longer here, I feel it is still inappropriate to not notify you here.

Anyway, since you have not edited your WP:PAC assignment, Smoochum, within the last week, you have been un-assigned from the article. Unfortunately, we have to enforce this rule if we wish to finish the remaining articles within a reasonable amount of time.

If you wish, you are welcome to request a new assignment. --Pidgeot (t) (c) (e) 13:52, 9 September 2005 (UTC)
