Notes[edit]

Hi! I have some notes for you:

  • With letter writing, keep in mind that some of the sourcing was published in the United States. As such, make sure that anything taken from this material is very clearly marked as being from an American letter guide writer and that the book was published during the Victorian era in the United States, as the American Victorian era occurred later than the English era. If it wasn't, we can't really guarantee that it was written with the Victorian era guidelines in mind. Another reason is that when culture goes from one country to another, the culture will change as the recipient country changes it to suit their environment and needs.
  • Be very careful with the sections and make sure that they're not redundant to one another. For example, general practices used in all letter writing should go into a more general section, if this is the case. Sections that cover the same topic areas should be merged into a single section. The sections on women writers should be merged together, for example.
  • Avoid original research. We can only summarize what has been explicitly stated in the source material. I'm concerned that some of this may be synthesis, creating new material.

I hope that this helps. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:33, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
