Welcome![edit]

Hello, Onikjeh, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Hi Onikjeh, I have moved this article back into draft space because it is not yet ready for article space. There's a lot of good material here, but please take care of the following issues:

- the article requires inline citations - i.e., each statement or block of statements needs to be connected to its source in the text. It is of very little use to the reader if there is a massive block of references and no indications of which statement is sourced by which reference. See WP:Referencing for beginners for markup guidelines. It appears to me that you just copied the entire reference list of "Resolving the ancestry of Austronesian-speaking populations"; that's not really a suitable approach.

- the article requires a WP:LEAD that summarizes the main points (no refs necessary here, as it shouldn't contain material not covered & referenced in the article anyway)

- the article requires internal hyperlinks to connect it with other articles. Please see MOS:LINK for guidelines. There's a lot of technical and specialist terms in here that would benefit from being linked to their respective articles.

- the article requires categories to make it detectable in various indices. Please see Wikipedia:Categorization for guidelines.

- please take care to avoid formulations such as "very recently" etc., as they will rapidly get out of date :)

Once these things are taken care of, you can move the page back into article space. If there are any problems, let me know. Cheers --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 06:48, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As a supplement to Elmidae's excellent suggestions, I recommend that you take a careful read of the Editing Wikipedia brochure. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 12:55, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Umm. Knock-knock? Did you read anything of the above before ramming the article back into mainspace? It is not ready in its current form. If you don't see to the noted issues before throwing the article out into the wild, it will very likely be butchered on the hoof. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 06:17, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I notice that the move was actually done by Loeraas, not you - apologies if this happened without your knowledge. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 08:22, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I did not move anything. I have no idea what is even being discussed or how my name was brought into this discussion. Apologies if I somehow edited this page without realizing. ~~Loeraas — Preceding unsigned comment added by Loeraas (talkcontribs) 05:08, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Loeraas - you didn't - I must have gotten my tabs mixed up. Sorry about that (goes and pours ashes on head) --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 07:13, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
