If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Quasamodo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Acroterion (talk) 18:09, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

July 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Quasamodo, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. A tag has been placed on Quasamodo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Quasamodo has been reverted.
Your edit here to Quasamodo was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.myspace.com/quasamodo) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 20:21, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have just found this source from MTV for this artist and his projects. He is a rising star here and Greece and has just been mentioned from the international MTV stating his music and also giving a link for my article on him on Wikipedia. I hope this as well as everyhting else I posted makes him a candidate for remaining on Wikipedia. I also have many sources but they are in Greek and as I have been informed by one of your colleagues this is not a good source. Thank you OriginalCrackerJack. http://www.mtviggy.com/blog-posts/greeces-the-q-orchestra-announces-new-ep/

The article Quasamodo has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:51, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Quasamodo, even if you intend to fix them later. Your edits did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you.

Edits such as this one are beginning to be disruptive. First of all, the subject of the article is a person, not a band, and persons don't have members (they have one, at the most). Second, the photograph doesn't seem to portray your subject. Duh? There are two people in there, none of whom appear to be your guy. Third, the "description" you added bears no relationship to that photo. Finally, these associated acts (mentioned in the article) are by themselves entirely non-notable, and on top of that you mention the subject as an act that's associated to himself. Please stop. CJ: I understand completely but this Dimitris Nassios aka Quasamodo writes music for 3 projects. What do I do now? I'm very sorry for taking up your time with my nonsense. I'm doing the best I can to make a great article. I also named it "stub". Also should I add the prod blp to the page? I removed band members. You were right about this too. Finally I have audio clips of Craig Charles saying his name during the show. Is this a good source? I have provided a link from the Athens News Agency which is the national news agency as well. They have a review and write his name.

http://www.parisdjs.com/index.php/post/The-Q-Orchestra-Journey-Through-Sounds This is a blog. I read they are considered good sources.

  • Blogs are not good sources. Audio clips are not good sources. See WP:RS. You need secondary sources, plain and simple, that are reliable. Also, if you wish to contribute to this article, do NOT continue to simply revert edits (in this case, mine) that are consistent with our Manual of Style--like the use of bold, italics, etc. Do NOT add links that are disallowed per our External link policy (see WP:EL. Etc. All this makes for more work for other editors, and it is irritating to have to do the same thing three times. Read up on the relevant policies that have been pointed out here and in the edit summaries, and we'll all get along much easier. Let me know if I can help. • Thank you for taking the time. I think you should delete my article, I spent 8 hours on it (being a new user I was bound to make mistakes!) and all you have done is attack me. I had nothing but good intentions but you've turned it into a conversation that makes me feel I am doing something illegal. I have read articles (or stubs) that are far worse than mine and have less resources than the ones I provided that are still on Wikipedia. My references such as this is better than a myspace page others use. Maybe the problem is that it's in Greek but it is the most credible news agency in Greece. Check here. Anyway, thanks for taking the time once again. Have a good weekend. OriginalCrackerJack 10:54, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • I'm trying to explain to you how you can improve the article and you accuse me of attacking you. That's nice. Drmies (talk) 13:45, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Then it's my bad. I honestly thought I was doing something bad. This guy exists, is a big thing in Greece and I can't get any good secondary sources. This is why I'm telling you to delete the article. I dont think I can do a better job. I'm trying to save you time by saying this. Also the reason I am using Wikipedia now is because of people like you who do a good job at checking bad articles. Up until recently Wiki was not the best place to get your sources and your output is helping a lot to change this.
    • Bad articles can be improved, that's simple. Drmies (talk) 14:01, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • OK then, I will try to find the best sources I can to improve the article and I'll do this in sandbox. Is there somewhere I can then send these links to get them checked before I add them to the article? Thanks.
    • There are sources (use Google News to look for Quasamodo) and some of them seem to come from OK sources. But I don't read Greek. You're dealing with someone who hasn't really broken through yet or had commercial success, and the way the cookie crumbles is that many publications don't pick up on an artist until that happens. It is possible that the time is not ripe for him, but look through Google News and see what you can do--I saw two things from MTV Greece. Look at other (decent) articles on artists (not at bad articles--they won't help you) and see how they are written, organized, and verified, and see if that helps. Good luck. Drmies (talk) 15:49, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think I might be lucky! MTV just posted about him and one of his bands The Q Orchestra. It even has a link to my Wikipedia article! Is this a good source? http://www.mtviggy.com/blog-posts/greeces-the-q-orchestra-announces-new-ep/

Thank you.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
