I didn't know Mr. Schwartz, but I met him a couple of times at conventions. In fact, he may well have been the first pro I ever met, at the Chicago Comicon back in 1984. Bradbury does look particularly bad in the photo I posted, and as I recall he was transported around the con in a wheelchair (but he was not confined to it), but that picture makes him look worse than he really did, thanks to his strange expression.
