Speedy deletion nomination of "Mohamed Lubbad"[edit]

Mohamed Lubbad, a page you created, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. You are welcome to contribute content that complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content, or remove the speedy deletion tag from the page. You can contest the deletion by clicking the "Contest this speedy deletion" button inside the speedy deletion tag. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Hello Osps7. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Osps7. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Osps7|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Praxidicae (talk) 12:44, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Gawanmeh Gate moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Gawanmeh Gate, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. buidhe 04:17, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi![edit]

Hi,

..and welcome!

I am trying to clean up a bit in some Jordanian villages, and I came across That Ras village (Karak), which you recently started.

A couple of issues: the article says: "That Ras is located 30 km to the southeast of the city of usury," which makes no sense to me. Is it usury -> Al-Karak?

Secondly, the co-ord of the village is exactly the same as for Al-Karak --> obviously wrong; where is this village located?

Thirdly, I have problems finding any sources about this village? Is it mentioned in the census, etc? Cheers, Huldra (talk) 21:32, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for this note, I will edit the article, add sources, and correct linguistic errors Osps7 (talk) 05:44, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Lmhkm lswry.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.flickr.com/photos/osps7/50690761952/in/dateposted-public/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sanaa Alsarghali requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Notice

The article Abd al-Sattar Qasim has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not enough in-depth coverage to pass WP:GNG, and he doesn't seem to meet any of the criteria of WP:NSCHOLAR.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hey man, you can do whatever you want for any article, I don't care about Jordan Arrests (2021), but don't edit my personal page next time!! Since I wrote this article, I'll include it in my articles, even if it was merged. -- Malkawi99 (talk) 09:21, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Malkawi99 (talk) 10:06, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Osps7 and Malkawi99: We can't have more than one article about the same topic so can the two of you agree which title you are going to use and just merge them, it's irrelevant who made the article first, the community owns the article.Selfstudier (talk) 10:10, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Osps7 and Malkawi99: Now we are at 2021 Jordanian coup d'état attempt as well, lol.Selfstudier (talk) 10:23, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Selfstudier:.In fact, I am satisfied with any decision. But to tell the truth, Osps7 created the article before me, he created his article and translated it automatically from Arabic Wikipedia (he created it before me, but when I started writing my article, his article did not appear to me). I created my article after I read several news, and I wrote it without translation. Also, "Detained persons" section has also been added to his article as I wrote it literally. Malkawi99 (talk) 10:24, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hahahaha lol. What a dilemma!. I don't think "coup d'état" is an appropriate term for what happened, because the Jordanian army didn't say it was a coup. -- Malkawi99 (talk) 10:26, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Osps7, I just read your comment on the AFD for EMHRM and thought it might be worth pointing you in the direction of WP:CIVIL. Hi the page history shows you added a deletion template to this article but that template points to a 2017 deletion discussion. If she’s a senator she is definitely notable anyway but I wanted to let you know if you are seeking deletion there is some kind of technical fault in your nomination. AfD discussions[edit]

When you nominate an article for deletion, as you did with Ahmed Al-Rimawi, you should state in an edit summary that that is what you are doing. In this case I have rectified your omission already, but please bear that in mind for the future. It also seems that the deletion discussion is malformed, with no headers or links. Please either follow the insructions at WP:AFD or use an automated tool such as Twinkle. Phil Bridger (talk) 17:29, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've taken pity on you and fixed the nomination, however in the future it may be better to ask for help or to wait and see. In this case, I was making a lap back to the article to see what became of the csd and would've nominated myself if I had been given the chance. At any rate, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ahmed Al-Rimawi is now live and correctly configured. You'd best watch the page, my guess is people will have some questions over the course of the nom. The article British Consulate General in Jerusalem has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Consulates General are not notable.

COI + working with other accounts[edit]

Are you affiliated with or working with the accounts 'MontyWasHere' and 'Omedia2015'? In your edits today on the Tarek Aggad page, you restored the exact same brazen puffery that those two accounts added to the article in 2020[2][3], which I find puzzling. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 20:07, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Snooganssnoogans Do you see that I work with other accounts? This is strange. I am always neutral and do not violate any Wikipedia policy. The article, in its old form, is more expressive than the real picture of the person, and I hope that you will adhere to the politeness of the discussion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Osps7 (talkcontribs)
I can't answer for User:Snooganssnoogans, but I can see that you did far more than revert the change of image, and reintroduced brazen puffery. Phil Bridger (talk) 21:06, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Osps7! Your additions to Birzeit University have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 00:57, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:States of Exception or Exceptional States cover image.jpeg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:States of Exception or Exceptional States cover image.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:31, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on States of Exception or Exceptional States requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.bloomsbury.com/uk/states-of-exception-or-exceptional-states-9780755626427/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.

AbdulMajeed Melhem moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, AbdulMajeed Melhem, is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 18:49, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
What does it mean that I have a conflict of interest?
I have been on Wikipedia for more than 6 years, and I have great knowledge of all policies, and I have also contributed to discussing policies.
I have opened a discussion to delete the article due to suspicions of a conflict of interest. The person who wrote the article works for her! Did you know this?
It is also very interesting that you have 82 amendments registered 8 months ago and are making baseless accusations!! Osps7 (talk) 21:31, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Fram, then it's better to try to fix the article instead of nominating it for deletion, knowing that all news sites contain the same wording! And this is news, not a document, a photo or a historical text!!
Knowing that I have reworked the article. Osps7 (talk) 09:50, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Osps7:, I don’t think you understand what Fram said. For one thing, copyright violations is truly breaking the law. You broke the law when you created the article. Nominating it for deletion is step 1 (as a way to fix the problem). While it is nominated for deletion, it is either your responsibility, or other editor’s choice to correct the problem. In this circumstance, I corrected the problem, so the deletion nomination was removed. However, you really need to read WP:NPOV. The article is completely filled with tons of bias and weasel wording. Heck, before I commented here (post-copyright violation fixing), I had to fix the article from where you wrote “occupying forces” instead of Israel. Please read WP:NPOV and understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a news organization. If you have any questions, you can reach me on my talk page. Cheers!
