Sourcing[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Joseph Mercola, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. MastCell Talk 07:20, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple accounts[edit]

Padawanlearner, the pattern and style of your recent edits at Joseph Mercola, in addition to your choice of name, lead me to question your relationship with user CaballeroJedi and IP user 202.78.76.226. Please consult WP:SOCK to learn more about Wikipedia's policies on the use of multiple accounts. Thank you, Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 16:44, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Keepcalmandcarryon, you removed the reference to AAPS, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, citing it as "unreliable." i'm wondering why, because the reference is an AAPS newsletter listing JOSEPH M. MERCOLA as a member. With regards to HIV Monograph, I'm still trying to verify if that is indeed the title of the Abbott book. Thanks, Padawanlearner (talk) 02:44, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please see WP:RS. A newsletter of a small fringe organization (and AAPS is a small fringe organization whether you agree with their ideology or not) is neither a reputable journalistic publication with an established reputation for fact-checking nor a peer-reviewed primary source. While Mercola's own website is also not a reliable source for most information--and again I'm speaking of Wikipedia policy, not your or my opinion of Mercola's own reliability--it can be used to support information about him or his opinions in some cases and is thus a preferable source to a fringe-group newsletter. Please seek advice from other editors if you disagree with me on this. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 16:14, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I'm just a new editor and am still learning about how Wiki works, I guess the answer to all these concerns is more research. Padawanlearner(talk) 03:36, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with Image:DrMercola-small (2).jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:DrMercola-small (2).jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:46, 14 August 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Asher196 (talk) 03:46, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading Image:DrMercola-small (2).jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Asher196 (talk) 03:46, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
