I got your message, and welcome to Wikipedia! A few quick pointers to help you get off the ground. There are some things you need to read. Clicking on Blue text will bring you to different guidelines for helping you write your first article. Some other quick things, the article that you posted was in (I presume) Spanish. I would need to see an English version. Second, the article was on your userpage, and not in the article space. Wikipedia is not an advertising service, and all of the articles here need to be encyclopedic and non-promotional in nature. To become an article, it must be about something that is notable. To prove notability, you need to provide links to reliable sources that talk about the company in a neutral and independent way. For example, have any newspapers or other independent entities written stories about the company explaining what makes it a notable company? Not press releases or paid advertisements. It is also very important to understand that most Wikipedians are not affiliated with the topics that we write about, we are neutral. If you are affiliated with the company in any way, please read our guideline on conflict of interest as well. Please let me know if you have any more questions! Epidata Consulting[edit]

Hi Paddy, responding on behalf of Keeper who has gone on wikibreak. What your article still needs is reliable sources to indicate why it's notable. Who has written about the company? What is it known for? TravellingCari 19:47, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Paddy, you can also answer here if you'd like. No worries where, I'll find it. The articles don't have to be only about Epidata but they need to be more than, "Epidata exists". Significant or at least non-trivial coverage. I think you're on a good start, the article is a lot better than it was. TravellingCari 21:40, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I'll keep working on it! One thing I forgot to ask, am I allowed to reference information from the companie's website, such as who their clients are etc...?

I have userfied the content to User:Paddyaling88/Epidata Consulting. You can use sources from the company as long as you keep in consideration WP:SELFPUB, but to prove notability you must use independant 3rd-party sources per WP:CORP. –xeno talk 15:38, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers Xeno, I appreciate it. I'll have a new 'first draft' up fairly soon, there will be 3rd party sources and hopefully will meet the requirements..Paddyaling88 (talk) 15:44, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

@ Xeno: How is the article looking? It's saved on the userpage (User:Paddyaling88/Epidata Consulting) that you gave me..I've tried to make it more suitable for Wikipedia. The only thing is the company doesn't seem to have any copyrights etc for the image which I have put up in the company infobox, should that be a problem?? thanks, Paddyaling88 (talk) 15:31, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Epidata_Consulting_logo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Epidata_Consulting_logo.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 08:49, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there again, I'm going to give my article another go, with some different sources etc, but before I upload the picture again, I don't know which tag to add to the picture. It is merely the company image, under what category (there seemed to be 1000s!) do I put it?? Thanks Paddyaling88 (talk) 17:42, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User:Paddyaling88...it's been five months[edit]

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Paddyaling88, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages: user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for businesses.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page in question and leave a note on this page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Calton | Talk 02:49, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
