The company about which the deleted article was written is a medium-sized firm in Richmond, VA that is deserving of a public entry. You tagged my recently created page, Anti-oppressive education, for deletion b/c I listed an education resource? That is seen as advertising?! I didn't have enough time to fill in the entire entry but wanted to get it started and so linked to the only research-based, non-profit, education centre that does anti-oppressive education work. Tagging as a stub[edit]

Hey, thanks for the work you do tagging articles as stubs! In the future, when tagging my articles, could you possibley hold off on the tagging? If not, that is ok. I was adding the tags, and more content and the edit conflict caused me to lose my changes. I know it is not your fault but wanted to let you know if you see me creating article, I will be properly tagging them myself! Template:Obscene[edit]

Well, I have to agree with you that the picture in question is rather disgusting, and well deserving of the {{obscene}} tag. I can understand why you felt the need to modify the template. I am just wondering if maybe there is a slightly more formal and more neutral way of wording the warning?

The defintion for Gross is that it is a slang term meaning 'disgusting' or 'grotesque'. Those terms would certainly apply to that picture, in my opinion. But they also reflect an emotional reaction. I guess that is the concern with the way you worded it. It applies a value judgement. And, hard as it is to believe, some people may not find the picture offensive.

Perhaps something like "unecessarily graphic" might work better, to express that the picture is not appropriate in the context of the article, and was placed there with the intent to offend, regardless of the stand-alone value of the picture? Just an idea. I did start a discussion on the talk page, if you would like to discuss it there. --KeithB 02:08, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the concern. I was using the before mentioned tag for a few of the articles I proposed for deletion, but the last couple I have on my clipboard - so I can just hit CTRL+V.

Re: Permissions[edit]

In order to delete articles, you have to have Administrator privileges on Wikipedia. You can read about the role of administrators at Wikipedia:Administrators. If you want to become an admin then I suggest making helpful edits in the Wiki, polocy, article and Userspaces for at least six months in order to build up knowledge of policies and guidelines and a good reputation amongst your peers. If you want to nominate articles for deletion, take a look at the speedy deletion criteria and use the templates to tag the pages for the attention of administrators such as me. I'm a bureaucrat on a couple of other Wikia wikis, but not this one. I just got back after a self-imposed Wikipedia hiatus which lasted almost all year. I'd be honored if you'd consider a nomination, but it might be more to my advantage to wait a couple of months or so. I know that Jimbo certainly trusts me and it was he who immediately brought my request for re-adminning before the ArbCom since I left in good stead. Two Dickinson Street Co-op[edit]

Is this the correct place to talk to you? I was under the impression that the correct protocol for contesting a speedy deletion was to copy the template into the "talk" page for the entry in question -- in this case Two Dickinson Street Co-op. I am suggesting that the article should not be deleted because the 2D Co-Op is at least as notable as the ten other eating clubs each of which has its own Wikipedia entry. Yes the intial entry for Andrzej Wroblewski was very poorly written so it made it look like speedy deletion. Have a look now I have laid out a basic structure but it needs a lot of work particularly 1948 to his death. Thank you for taking part in my RfA. The RfA was not successful, mostly because I did a pretty bad job of presenting myself. I'll run again sometime in the next few months, in the hopes that some will reconsider.

In the meantime, one of the projects I'm working on is A Wikimedia Administrator's Handbook. This is a wikibook how-to guide intended to help new administrators learn the ropes, as well as to simply "demystify" what adminship entails. If you are an administrator, please help out with writing it, particularly on the technical aspects of the tools. Both administrators and non-administrators are welcome to help link in and sort all of the various policies regarding the use of these tools on wikipedia in particular (as well as other projects: for example, I have almost no experience with how things work on wiktionary or wikinews). Users who are neither familiar with policy or the sysop tools could be of great help by asking questions about anything that's unclear. The goal is to get everything together in one place, with a narrative form designed to anticipate the reader's next question.

A second project, related but not entailed, is a book on wikimedia in general, with a history of how various policies evolved over time, interesting trivia (e.g., what the heck was "wikimoney" about?), and a history of how the wikimedia foundation itself came about and the larger issues that occurred during its history (such as the infamous "Spanish Fork").

There are several ways to do it, see detailed instructions WP:ARCHIVE. In order to archive mine, I just create an archive page for every 50 topics on my talk page. Then I just paste the content, and delete it from the main talk page. You may check the templates on my talk page if you decide this way. Hope this helps. It seems notable to me (based on a Google for the correct article title, it is independently discussed, and is having an impact on education). Frank Hogan[edit]

My apologies if I misunderstood the Biography notability criteria. My understanding was that one test is to ask "will people care about this person 100 years from now?" or "do I care about a similar person from 100 years ago?" I certainly care about Teddy Roosevelt, so it seems to me that Kennedy would pass this test.
