Criticism of Alsace Grand Cru[edit]

Hello Papatt, considering this edit, if you are interested in Alsace wine, are you really geniunely unaware of the criticism of the Grand Cru system? I'm sure you must have noted that top producers such as Trimbach, Hugel and Léon Beyer don't use it. I notice that the statements were not referenced, which they should, but inserting 10 templates in one section, as you did, looks a little weird, even though it is hidden. Regulations of planting grapes per departément[edit]

Hello Papatt! You have added information in a couple of cases about which variety is allowed to be planted where. Do you have a reference for this information? I don't doubt what you've written, but I'm curious to see the original information. I know that after the introduction of Vin de France, which are allowed to be varietal wines, there was the prospect of new varietal wines from e.g. Languedoc, but that restrictions have been put on this. French Conjugation[edit]

I see that you reverted my changes to French conjugation. I am an întermediate French student, and I have always believed that envoyer is irregular due to its future and conditional stem (and this makes sense to me, since vouvoyer does not have this change). In addition, I was taught throughout the various courses I took that -re verbs are a class all their own, and all irregular verbs are outside the conjugation categories. I had no idea that this article was the correct and majority view, and I was about to change it completely a while back but was interrupted. Please offer me some help with this. As a native French speaker, I'm sure about what I did. I'm pretty good in French grammar and furthermore I checked in the French Wiktionnary to take away any doubt. Envoyer is actually a first group verb

Maybe you didn't read the good sentence, please see after French conjugation#Parler: you'll notice that envoyer is not an irregular verb but an exceptional one. All you've learned and wrote back about this verb is written downthere.

About -re verbs (third group): some of these have a common conjugation because of a common root (e.g. prendre and apprendre) but you can't say there's a common rule, even if you narrow to endings like -dre (e.g. prendre and entendre), please see the many (and not only) examples given as of French conjugation#Attendre.

Please keep thîs on your talk page, as that is where I posted the message. Perhaps this is just the view on verbs taken in Canada (where I live)? I'd really like to know more about this, as I just made a list of all French's irregular verbs (by ending type, not by individual verbs) and arrived at 56, not counting defective verbs. Well, I'm not sure there are grammar differences between Canadian French and "original" French.

To help you in your irregular verbs list, please look at Wiktionnaire:Liste de tous les modèles/Français/Conjugaison: you'll find a long list of irregular conjugations.

At last, about FA status: I'll try to help you the best I can but I don't really see what the article misses. The most work will be on your side.
