Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:08, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Me and VPN incident,Aug,2019[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Mistakenly accessed to Wikipedia while using VPN.this IP seems to be blocked. For me,this is first time accessed using this VPN.

Decline reason:

No problem! Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do for you. The autoblock will clear automatically within 24 hours of you accessing the VPN or proxy, then you should be good to go! Yamla (talk) 20:00, 9 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I understand,I've learned..I will be careful.Thank you!Paperworkorange (talk) 20:11, 9 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

But I am still confused what happened.I'm trying to understand "All VPN are bad".Is it ok?Paperworkorange (talk) 21:37, 9 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

VPNs aren't bad. I mean, some of them are, but many are perfectly fine. It's just all of them are used to attack Wikipedia, so we have to block all of them. Nobody's claiming you personally are attacking Wikipedia, just that VPNs generally are widely used to attack Wikipedia. --Yamla (talk) 11:54, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I see,I understand.I meant,"I should not access Wikipedia with VPN because I will be misunderstood automatically as someone attacking Wikipedia."I'm not taking it personally at all,I hope you understand.Thank you for explanation.I wanted to be sure not to make this mistake again.Thank You!--Paperworkorange (talk) 13:42, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like my block is over.

If someone like me happens to reading here,(unlikely though)don't click "Edit"while you are using VPN!. I have been browsing block log, realized just to block someone, including careless person like me is huge task. Thank you for Admins.I feel so embarrassed as this is 11 years old account.(but only 200 edit).--Paperworkorange (talk) 14:27, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,Thank you for invitation.I actually no knowledge for coding,so I hastily read what it is,then voted as "Wikipedian in general".Personally I think it's welcoming idea to omit war-relating word from General Project.Paperworkorange (talk) 11:49, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
