I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. March 08, 2007: Help Me[edit]

initially signed up under the username:egalite.

i've been associated with the egalite as a username (not wiki) and as an email address since '97.

the password is not working and there is no email address associated with the username:egalite.

you'll see the IP addresses for username:paradoxos and username:egalite for an MTA dial-up server.

additionally, i added some information that is particular to alaska, but was deleted.

egalite would be my preferred username if i could get it back.

there really is a lot of information to go through before i am ready to make contributions.

i'll try to be thoughtful, courteous, respectful and smart.

though, i am merely human and i am merely male.

thank you for allowing me the opportunity to collaborate.

Paradoxos 02:19, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am not here to riddle, joke, or play. I am here to do the best I possibly can. Wikipedia is a collaboration of the most important kind. Let me reiterate, Wikipedia is serious and Wikipedia is no joke. Respect my only good intentions. This is the first revert, and I will use all three. Paradoxos 07:54, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you can't remember the password, and you have no e-mail, there is no way of recovering the password (short of the developers fixing it, but they refused to do that). Sorry. John Reaves (talk) 08:00, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, if you want the name Egalite, you could request a usurpation at Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations. John Reaves (talk) 08:03, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for a most appropriate response. Paradoxos 08:07, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

as long as the cherished username:egalite is safe on Wikipedia, i am in no rush. again, thank you. Paradoxos 08:13, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, actually, anyone that wants it can request it. John Reaves (talk) 08:16, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An Automated Message from HagermanBot[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 23:20, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't need another mother. Mistakes are made, spelling, grammar, citations, or forgetting to sign posts on talk pages. Now, get over it MOM.

dOOd[edit]

I am by no means an expert in anything copyright but I'll see what I can do to help. Mykll42 17:56, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are a few pages on copyright violation, like WP:COPYVIO. Is the infringing material an article, part of an article, or an image/other media? --Transfinite (Talk / Contribs) 20:15, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, five tildes will put only the date/time, three will put only your username, and four will put both. From your comment "(Apparently, somebody hates me)", it's not clear if you were already aware of this. If you are, then w/e. Cheers, RealGrouchy 02:52, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requests for page protection[edit]

Paradoxos, the proper venue for page protection is WP:RFPP. Regards, Iamunknown 03:08, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Conservapedia talk page stuff[edit]

Hey, M. Pi, if you don't mind me calling you that ;) We appear to be each trying to edit the CP talk page at the same time. No big deal, but we are commenting on what each other is saying, making it a little confusing. Want to try to hash it out here for a moment, or shall we figure out a timetable (every other five minutes, hehe?) so we get a chance to read what each other says before re-editing? And also, since it appears that we both might be excited about creating an Andrew Schafly article, maybe we should take turns somehow? (how did these people build this web site without constant edit conflicts???) Huw Powell 23:52, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

im done commenting on the section for the time being. when there is an editing conflict, i just cut what i wrote, open a new page, and re-paste. thanks for taking the time to comment on my talkpage. you can call me whatever you want. i am not picky! παράδοξος 00:00, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yup'ik[edit]

Just an FYI to let you know that I'm actively working on developing the Yup'ik article, which will be specific to the speakers of Central Alaskan Yup'ik language rather than a generalist article about all Yupik peoples, as the Yupik article is. Thus, it will be substantially different from the Yupik article. I've got a wealth of info, & have some time on my hands this evening to begin adding to the article. But I will leave the template in place until I actually start. --Yksin 23:24, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for your message on my talk page. That's be great. I see from your to-do list that we do indeed have overlapping interests. I've been working particularly intensively on improving/expanding pages related to Alaska Natives -- my user page has some of the details. Although I'm heading off for a two-week vacation next Friday, but I'll be back on it when I return. I'll be working on & off on the Yup'ik article before I go. I want to do some work on pages related to the Dena'ina as well -- I have a pretty thorough biography on Peter Kalifornsky in the works (in my sandbox -- which I mention because I see you've got Tyonek, Alaska on your to-do list, which is also Dena'ina-related.
I started a subproject page of the WikiProject Alaska on Alaska Natives -- perhaps we could coordinate some of the work there? --Yksin 17:42, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New attempt to remove OccupyMARINES[edit]

Please forgive this unsolicited contact, but I note that a couple of weeks ago, you participated in a discussion at Wikipedia regarding the proposed deletion of their entry on OccupyMARINES. Of 26 respondents, 24 voted to Keep; only 2 voted Delete. The result was to Keep the article.

However, it has now been nominated again for deletion, and I thought you might be interested. Here's the URL for the new discussion page:
