Happy New Year!

Best wishes for the New Year!
Wishing you and yours a joyous, healthful, and productive 2013!

Please accept a belated thank you for the well wishes upon my retirement as FAC delegate this year, and apologies for the false alarm of my first—and hopefully last—retirement; the well wishes extended me were most kind, but I decided to return, re-committed, when another blocked sock was revealed as one of the factors aggravating the FA pages this year.

Maintaining standards in featured content requires vigilance, dedication and knowledge of people like you, who are needed; reviews are always welcome at FAC, FAR and TFA requests. Somehow, somehow we never ever seem to do nothin' completely nice and easy, but here's hoping that 2013 will see a peaceful road ahead and a return to the quality and comaraderie that defines the FA process, with the help of many dedicated Wikipedians!

I'm glad to see you back. You're right, it's a thankless task made more difficult by the bizarre focus on being nice to oneanother instead of producing content our readers can rely on. Parrot of Doom 22:49, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

You are a loser

You are the biggest jerk on Wikipedia. Why? 142.166.207.213 (talk) 21:40, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Because I took lessons from you? Parrot of Doom 21:50, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Blackbeard categories

I'm not quite sure what you think is "rubbish". If you think a statement in the article is rubbish, you may like to edit it. If you think that certainty is required for a categorisation to stand, you're going to be busy. For a start, you may like to remove Category:1680s births from this article. There are a few other articles in Category:People from Bristol that you may want to remove from the category, where the sources are less than 100% certain. We do not have a category for Category:People probably from Bristol. --Mhockey (talk) 01:37, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

I think your excuses are rubbish. I also do think that certainty is required for a categorisation to stand. I couldn't care less about people from Bristol, I merely care about the articles I've written. Parrot of Doom 09:14, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for your lucid and thoughtful explanation of your views.--Mhockey (talk) 00:47, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
I'd rather spend my time writing articles than debating categorisation. Parrot of Doom 01:01, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi Parrot, small issue with the nom. Could you reply there? Thanks. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 14:51, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
