Inkwell Awards[edit]

Hi, Particletracker. I had posted this last night at you IP's talk page, User talk:207.12.129.3, going from my History-page timestamp. I've copied it here, below:

Thanks for coming by and discussing. I've posted my reply to [that page's section about your] Bob Almond [edits] since it points to the same issue: As long as an article is being edited primarily by the person or organization that it's about, then it's promotional in nature. It wasn't a disinterested, unrelated party created Inkwell Awards, and makes the entire article questionable. Virtually the only footnoted citations come from the organization itself, so I'm not sure the awards even qualify for notability — any group of fans can create an online ballot and declare they've created an award. Getting an admin opinion on notability is a drastic step, and personally, I'd like to see disinterested outside editors, with no conflict-of-interest issues, improve it with edits that add citations that come from equally disinterested third-party sources.

Until that happens, I'd strongly advise keeping the tags up in order to solicit outside editors, and I'd very strongly suggest that anyone connected with awards stay away from it at this point. If the award is notable, editors will come. --Tenebrae (talk) 04:40, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

I appreciate your taking the time and effort to discuss this today, and I'm glad you agree it's time to step back and let other editors, if any, take over contributing. As you mentioned, you're a fan of Bob Almond's efforts and he considers you his "official chronicler," so I can see how it would be difficult for you to remain neutral.

Hi, Particletracker. I've addressed some of the lingering issues at Bob Almond and detailed my edits on his talk page. A lot of the references links were problematic — newsgroups and commercial sales links such as magazine subscription and ordering links are disallowed. However, the biblio should be able to return — there's a discussion going on at WikiProject Comics' talk page on consistency, style and formatting of such biblios.
