You just have something against me! I want to edit correctly but you need to give me a chance. I am not into messing you all about but if you dont give me chance i will turn against wikipedia and make stupid edits on all the computers i can get my hand on and engourage my friends to do the same. You encouraged me to talk to my blocker but all you have done is come on here, pretty much slag me off saying i am going to muck stuff up. Iam a very accademic 14 year old i have 5 hours of private tutition every week with Maths, English, French and Welsh. As it currently stands i am in the very top of my year for maths, science, geography and history achieving the highest mark possible on my report for my age. My school is also one of the best in the country so the standard to be top is very high. My results in science averages at 90% and maths 88%. I am not some dull head on here trying to make a mess. A question about editing

I was trying to edit the profile for Raydio, but it seems that when a # is starting a new line, the # automatically turns into a 1. Is there a way around this, to be able to start off a line without a # turning into a 1.? If there is a way, let me know, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, peace. Help on inclusion of images (ref: article on Nagori)

Could you please advice if it would be appropriate and acceptable to 'uncomment' the first line which is picture of the painter. Subsequently I could add images of his work (paintings) to make the article more comprehensive. What you said here. I found myself agreeing absolutely. It applies to all editors, and not just administrators and arbitrators. The key, in my view, is to know yourself and try and be aware of whether past or present associations are clouding your judgment. Some people, I think, do care about that and consciously try to avoid favoritism when there is a conflict of interest. Others are not really aware of it. Aaron_Gilmore

Hi, you deleted the written piece about Aaron Gilmore citing copyright violation when the content is in fact copyright to Aaron Gilmore himself and was allowed to be published on the website http://www.national.org.nz by Aaron. I was trying to add the piece in about Aaron as he is a candidate for the Christchurch East electorate. There are other candidates with roughly similar pages discussing their prior history and I believe it is of public interest to know about Aaron's background when looking to vote. There wad nothing in there that was overly strong promoting Aaron, it seemed quite standard. Are you able to re-instate this deletion or where do we go from here? Aaron Gilmore - Part II

Wikipedia is a place for people to find out information regarding a public figure or someone who could potentially be a public figure and of importance. If Wikipedia is not the place for people to research background information on a political candidate (which is what I'm trying to provide) then why on earth are there so many other political candidates across the whole of Wikipedia? The idea here is to provide information to anyone trying to make an informed decision on voting in a general election. Where's the soapboxing in that? Many of the other New Zealand election candidates have Wikipedia pages. Why have you removed this one and not every other one that's out there for every other country? I would suggest it's because this is useful information for someone researching who they should vote for. Of course I have an interest in putting the page up. I want to see that the local electorate makes an informed choice. There is already a Wikipedia page on the incumbent MP, under general rules of fair-justice should it not be relevant for a candidate to receive the same treatment or do you believe that people only have the right to see information for currently elected politicians, not candidates? I have emailed Aaron Gilmore directly about this and he has responded with permission for this content to be published on Wikipedia. Any chance to research information and 'meet the candidate' is the best form of information that an open source encyclopedia can hope to offer to voters. He's now had a block and a couple more warnings, and yet he's still making edits like this: [1]. It's his Twinkle that needs to go, then we'd see what he's like underneath. I suggest removing it if and when he gets things wrong so frequently again. Is there anything written up about how admins can remove automation tools from users? Is this just editing and protecting of their monobook file? Blank and protect. Then require that any editions be added by the admin to make sure he doesn't add tools he can't use responsibly that is about it. After a long period of good editing his monobook could be unprotected.--Crossmr (talk) 07:25, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

This is a last resort: a number of Twinkle functionalities are helpful for completely uncontroversial tasks and blanking/protecting is an overkill. I'd rather block him for increasingly long periods if he continues to screw up. Pascal.Tesson (talk) 16:00, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Aaron Gilmore - Part III

I have come back in and seen your response on the idea that an encyclopedia should not include public figures of interest for a general election. This has to be the worst case of abusing the idea that a wiki is an evolving thing editable by the public and creating resources that the public is interested in. If you are serious about this being an incorrect use of this Wiki, please go ahead and remove every page that is linked from a name here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Party_lists_in_the_New_Zealand_general_election_2008 Otherwise, what you should to is follow the spirit of what I was trying to achieve and go ahead an modify the wiki that I had put up to include or not the details that you believe should be there. I can take your point that it is difficult for myself to write an objective piece on Mr Gilmore which is exactly why you should be helping to improve the content, not just blatantly removing it when it has useful information. Many of the minor politicians linked on the above page have the same sorts of details about them but you would not go ahead an delete all of them. Why? Because they provide a valuable resource as a whole as did the page I was attempting to add. Will you bring the page back and edit it in the way you see fit to be a valuable resource or are you only into deleting information?

I'm not into "deleting stuff". But I do care about Wikipedia being used properly. While I have no doubt that extensive cleanup is needed for many politician biographies, I'd like to note that Aaron Gilmore has never been elected or held political positions of any importance. Unsurprisingly, this results in a complete absence of significant third-party coverage of his life, achievements and beliefs. In contrast, the article on John Key is referenced using a variety of solid sources. Most of the politicians on that list have had significant political careers and have received the corresponding media attention. If you want to go through the list and let me know about unreferenced biographies of minor figures for which the only source is the party's website, I'll be glad to look at them in detail. Could you take a brief glance at this use of tools

Recently I think he's been doing really well, but User:Tohd8BohaithuGh1 started using huggle the other day as another user advised him that it was faster than twinkle, and he seems to be using it for other purposes (such as removing external links [3]) as well as just removing vandalism. Is this acceptable and do others do it much? The manual for huggle only seems to mention vandalism really. We need to be firm with the guidelines as he was previously blocked, mainly for his use of Twinkle. I was happy to take on this adoptee after he had problems, but the use of tools isn't my speciality, and it seems to be something he's keen to develop. And I expect you have a good grasp of the rules and perhaps the ways people customarily use these tools and what is acceptable use. He is doing great though, I don't think he needs any discipline or anything even if this isn't a perfect use of tools, as the content of the edits is still good. I just want to make sure he is staying on track and see if I need to give him a friendly reminder. I will ask someone else too just because I just spotted you haven't been on for a few days. Tohd made over 550 edits (mostly rv'ing vandalism) in about the last 12 hours and no complaints appeared.:) Those that I checked were ok. Your comments on my editor review

I would like to thank you for taking the time to make a comment on my editor review, but when I read your comment I saw that you had a problem with my oppose reason at an RFA. I think you misread the RFA, I never stated that there are "too many admins" in fact, my current opinion on the matter is that we need more admins. My oppose reason was "I don't feel that I can support a user with virtually no experience in the areas that they want to work in. Sure, the user has good judgment, but judgment is no substitute for experience. Furthermore, the user said many times that they would look for the opinion of other admins in areas that they want to work. Input from other admins should not be necessary for most decisions that an administrator needs to make, and if it is, it should hold the same weight as any other users input" The user below me made the comment that there are too many admins, however, this is not my opinion. Lyle123 update

This kid is becoming a real pain. I think he's actually craving the attention. He continually creates sock accounts under the same basic naming convention. Case in point: User:PolishAnimatedmovieHelpMeIAmTheFish200955555. Like all his socks of late, he creates names with garbled CamelCase names of non-existent films and tops it off with the "year of release" coupled with a few random numbers for good measure. I tried to reason with him a couple of times, but I've been ignored. I guess I was wrong in assuming that someone like this thought like a reasonable and rational person. I see him in the late night here in the US since he's wreaking his brand of havoc during the day in Australia. I'm not going to feed this troll one morsel more. I see him, I tag him and an admin will bag him. :) I promised myself no more whack-a-vandal for reasons such as this, but this sort of repetitive, destructive behavior to a project of this magnitude just steams my fleckmans.
