expired AfC submissions[edit]

When you are tagging AfC submissions that have expired, please consider whether they can be salvaged. Since high schools are normally considered notable, for example, there is a good chance that you could approve an AfC submission about a high school that another editor had rejected. Okay. I tried not to nominate articles for that were declined based on references (or lack thereof) alone for G13. The ones that I nominated for speedy deletion also had other issues such as promotional content, or, in the case of the article you saved, non-English text. Abusive username reporting[edit]

Please wait until it is dealt with because of the usernames. You do not want to accidentally report a username with personal info or libel. --Bsadowski1 10:30, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey friend i am a beginner and will need help from you please revisit my page and please suggest me something asap. i hope you will understand and help.Themessengerofknowledge (talk) 07:34, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The page was deleted under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page had no content other than a single image. If you want to learn how to write articles, read this page. Passengerpigeon (talk) 07:51, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed article?[edit]

Hi, Thanks for approving the World Elephant Day article! I think I've fixed the issues (no more bare URLs and it now has links from related pages) - would it be possible to remove the box at the top? Thanks! WorldElephantDay (talk) 19:05, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you can remove cleanup templates once the issues are fixed (I have done so for you in this case). Passengerpigeon (talk) 00:23, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thank you so much! WorldElephantDay (talk) 01:06, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

PaulMac albums[edit]

Hey Passengerpigeon, I feel so silly!!! I had drafted PaulMac's "3000 Feet High" and "Panic Room" at the same time and put the info for "Panic Room" in "3000 Feet High".. I realised soon after I had pressed submit and I was about to delete it all and correct it, when I noticed you had already done it. Thanks again! You're welcome. Passengerpigeon (talk) 06:40, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

GrowCEED page don't delete[edit]

Sorry I didn't think that putting our our website pages would count toward a deletion. I'm a new member and still learning. I've taken off the websites, please remove the tag. Sorry for the trouble. Grow ceed (talk) 12:27, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The page was tagged for speedy deletion due to promotional wording, not inappropriate external links. I will not remove the tag unless you rewrite the page. Passengerpigeon (talk) 12:32, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I already did.... I'm saying I'll move the websites that were posted there to be external links. Although I personally don't think that I really promoted because we are a charity organization after all. I just want people to be able to reach us if they want to... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Grow ceed (talkcontribs) 12:36, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Altered speedy deletion rationale: Chi Thanh[edit]

Hello Passengerpigeon, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I deleted Chi Thanh, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct criterion is used. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 13:47, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please tell that to whoever originally flagged the page. I just reverted the page creator's removal of the tag. Passengerpigeon (talk) 13:52, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I actually thought I unchecked the notification option, but it got sent to you anyway. Sorry for the confusion, Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 14:04, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to me that this user has actually discovered a real problem with the "ascii art" filter. The actual content was

#I saw a mistake in an article
#I corrected the mistake.
#Some other user (using his IP to contribute) reverted my edit.
#I left the user a message on that user's user page explaining why I made the edit.

But that's perfectly legit Wiki markup, and a perfectly legit thing to have in an unblock request:

  1. I saw a mistake in an article
  2. I corrected the mistake.
  3. Some other user (using his IP to contribute) reverted my edit.
  4. I left the user a message on that user's user page explaining why I made the edit.

Are you a filter programmer by chance? Someone should either make this work right or make it go away; it's going to confuse people unnecessarily. --jpgordon::==( o ) 05:40, 9 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No, I'm not, sorry. You need to ask an administrator or a filter editor. Passengerpigeon (talk) 06:09, 9 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
