First, as you have some connection here, you need to read and review Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy as this likely applies to your editing. As for what sources are , please review guidelines such as WP:RS, WP:CITE, WP:V. Also, self-published sources should not be used, better to cite a secondary source. Thanks. It seems I need to disclose the potential conflict of interest here. I accept that happily. It also seems based on what you've cited that the citation-needed tag must stay since no secondary source exists to back up the statement. (Maaaybe actually there is such a source in an article written well after the incident, after the decision in question had been taken, but I'd have to dig hard for it.)
