Some friendly relevant guidance[edit]

Hi, I notice that you have been working on improving a single topic and that your account name appears related to the topic. Just in case you have any issues in the future and want to ensure there are no misunderstandings, you may find it useful to check out the guidance of single-purpose accounts and (perhaps less relevantly) conflict of interest. Keep up the good work. Cheers—Ash (talk) 16:37, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Ash, for your guidance and direction! I am learning the system on one page primarily but have also updated a few other relevant pages on topics of peace and justice. I appreciate your support and assistance very much as I learn this new system....

No problem, if there is any part of the way things get done that doesn't seem to make sense then just drop a note on my talk page.
With regard to the photo you've uploaded, you may find Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials of interest. Generally there has to be a unambiguous copyright release for an image to stay on Wikipedia unless copyright has expired or (usually not accepted) there is a justifiable claim of irreplaceableness. Personally, for photos of people unless an amateur photo is available under the correct public release on, say, Flickr or I have taken the photograph myself and released it, they are almost always eventually deleted.—Ash (talk) 22:33, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I believe this tag is the best one to attach to this photo, if that makes any difference: {{CC-BY-SA-3.0}}. Randall Amster has given permission to use it in this context. Does this make it possible to keep it from being deleted? I am almost done with this learning entry and ready to move onto other levels of Wiki participation!

Well, the good news is that it is possible. The bad news is that you have more reading to do! If you go to WP:PERMISSION, the process of emailing the OTRS team to prove that you have permission is there. Once they have an appropriate email (i.e. a copy of an appropriately worded email form Amster) then a ticket number demonstrating that real life permission was given can be added to the page along with the right permission tag... It may take a while so bear with it... Once you have sent an email to the OTRS people you can add {{OTRS pending}} to the page and this will pause the deletion process.—Ash (talk) 23:24, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Randall Amster[edit]

Hello Peaceaz. If you're going to cite Randall Amster's books in a footnote, you should note also which pages are pertinent for the reference note, too, unless the whole book is on point which in some cases, doesn't seem to be quite the case. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
