Thank yoooo! - Peaches

Thank you for your correction. I thought that "trilogy" was a mistake, and it was, in a sense, but it was Douglas Adams's humour! I think that "trilogy of six books" makes it clearer. It was written as hexalogy on one article. Sorry for my mistake. I hope you can forgive me. - Peaches

WP:SIGN would be well worth learning for the pangalactic gargleblasters you owe... JarrahTree 04:25, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with my long time dear friend User:JarrahTree here. All you have to do is type four tildes. That is: ~ for the four times. Like this: ~~~~
It will automatically convert in your signature, with the time and date of the comment. Even though we sound a lot of Vogon'ish, by almighty Bob it is really necessary. —usernamekiran (talk) 21:39, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

August 2021[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Lisa (rapper), disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please read WP:SENTENCECASE. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 07:54, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That's really mean! I don't appreciate that at all! Peaches Salinga (talk) 10:02, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Peaches Salinga, Paper9oll could have used friendlier language, but their advice is sensible. Wikipedia has a Manual of Style (MOS) so that individual editors don't have to argue about formatting on individual pages. The MOS recommends sentence case for section headings, so Television shows rather than Television Shows. Help:Getting started is a good way to find out more about Wikipedia, but everybody still makes mistakes sometimes and then gets messages from other editors to let them know. He needs to be taught how to behave! This is uncalled for. Peaches Salinga (talk) 10:35, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I was going to post this in the noticeboard thread you started, but that was (sensibly) closed by an administrator.
Paper9oll's message is a template, not something he has formulated himself. Template messages tend to be thoroughly discussed and vetted, and from my point of view this one is perfectly civil, but it can certainly be the case that an expression that looks completely innocent to many people is a bit uncivil to others. If there is any particular phrase or expression in the notice you received that looks less than friendly to you, the place to discuss that is probably Wikipedia talk:Template index/User talk namespace. Unless you help other editors understand which part of the template feels rude to you, there can't ever be a change.

Warning[edit]

Peaches Salinga, I don't know why everyone is coddling you here. Being new isn't some sort of exemption from common sense. You're wasting volunteer resources with this bogus complaint. Please do better. El_C 12:26, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
