Codpiece article

I seem to have got myself into an edit war, and I'm not sure how to get out. Special:Contributions/175.36.225.204 has been trying to insert some edits about the medical use of codpieces in Renaissance Europe. The sources s/he cites are really not WP:RS. The best of the lot is an article that speculates on the idea but presents no evidence and isn't any kind of recognised expert. I've tried to explain this on the talk page, but the user hasn't engaged in any discussion beyond telling me to "read some books". Anyway, I'm just not sure how to proceed. The problem isn't entirely edit warring. I'm confident the the sources aren't reliable without a trip to the RS noticeboard, and it seems a bit trivial for ANI. Help! I've responded on Talk:Codpiece. I think pursuing this at RS noticeboard may be necessary, since - as the article is now fully protected with this unwanted content in it - some additional steps need to be taken. — jmcgnh^{(talk) (contribs)} 06:54, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
