January 2014[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. No big deal, just remember this in the future. And again, welcome! Answers[edit]

Your account becomes authorised after 10 edits and four days. See WP:ACCOUNT. We have various places you can ask for help, but you might want to use the WP:HELPDESK for questions about editing, eg uploading. There is also Wikipedia:New contributors' help page which has other suggestions. I've asked the editor who reverted you to explain why, but meanwhile I've restored your edit sans image as I can't figure out how to get the size right - it may not be possible with that image. You don't need the url, click edit on a section with an image and you can see the syntax. Sorry I really do not have time to adopt you, but you can always ask me where to get guidance or simple questions. Dougweller (talk) 21:58, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

howdy[edit]

Hello Periodyssey, great name. :-)   You can call me 74 please. Noticed your question on Doug's page when I was trying to chase down User:Barepunts. The advice from Doug is solid, but I would add that there is a newfangled place for fast answers to questions called WP:TEAHOUSE that is worth trying. Please don't tell the helpdesk folks I said anything, they have my highest respect, but *teahouse* people get paid the big bucks... fifty times more than helpdesk folks are paid... and are therefore extra-super friendly. (Mention my name and your second cup of virtual tea is on the house.) <grin> Also, if you get stuck, or think you may need a small novel rather than a "quick" answer, feel free to leave me a message on my talkpage. Hope this helps, thanks for improving wikipedia. 74.192.84.101 (talk) 06:29, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with your custom signature[edit]

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. 19:04, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
