possible conflict of interest[edit]

Hi. I see you editing has focused upon Amir Husain in a promotional way but I don't see your legally-required disclosure. Also, you seem to be adding copyrighted content. That sort of thing can get you kicked off Wikipedia permanently. Another problem could be if you are using more than one Wikipedia account or telling other people you know to help you edit, because that is also prohibited. I understand you're new here so I want to be sure you understand the rules for contribution. I know many new editors get excited about adding content without realizing how we do things. What aspect of my edits are promotional? I do not think any of my edits are promotional in any aspect. They all state facts, which I have provided sources for in my edits. I am yet unaware of any copyrights existing on that image, but will be willing to keep the old image if you insist a copyright exists for the image. The user who deleted the image on copyright grounds sourced the copyright to a UT Austin talk, but the image was not taken by UT Austin, it was taken by an independent third party. (as can be evidenced by the camera angle and quality of the photo, inconsistent with that of any screencaps from the talk recording.) I do not mean for any of my additions to come off as malicious, because they are not. I simply added more recent info. It's bizarre to me that factual information, such as Husain's involvement with NATO and Husain's philanthropy is considered promotional, when for other individuals it is perfectly fine to include on their wikipedia page. If you insist that I require a legally required disclosure, please point me in the direction to submitting such disclosure, though I don't believe that's necessary. It seems that a fair amount of text you added comes directly from https://amirhusain.com/about/ and the website is labeled at the bottom "Copyright © 2015-2022 Amir Husain", so that is a violation of WP:COPYVIO. It os also intellectually dishonest. Adding text with citations is fine so long as the words are your own and not already copyrighted. If you wrote material legally claimed, you cannot also add same here because all edits to Wikipedia have to be CC BY-SA per Wikimedia Foundations Terms of Use. As it says at Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest#How_to_disclose_a_COI, you need to identify/describe your conflict of interest on your userpage, the article's talk page, or in the edit summary of the edits you make. With the information you've provided me I will make sure to rewrite my additions in a manner that is compatible with the guidelines you have presented. I appreciate your help in resolving this issue. Permafrost21 (talk) 19:47, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

April 2022[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove maintenance templates from Wikipedia articles without resolving the problem that the template refers to, as you did at Amir Husain. if you revert to restore a copyright violation, copyrighted material or the copyright notice again, I will request an indefinite block. CUPIDICAE💕 19:38, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You removed the 'copyrighted' image, then left a copyright violation flag on the main page. This is incorrect conduct, as since the disputed image was removed and will not be added back, any flag pertaining to it is irrelevant to the page and should not be there. Permafrost21 (talk) 19:40, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, it was copyrighted, which is why it's been revision deleted. You're simply wrong, and continue to be wrong and if you continue to edit war, you will be blocked. Simple. CUPIDICAE💕 19:42, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for sockpuppetry[edit]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked temporarily from editing for abusing multiple accounts per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Permafrost21. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  -- RoySmith (talk) 20:07, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
