I am still learning how to properly tag and sign everything here, but sure I could help with a policy regarding gender and pronouns. I think that if someone identifies as a certain gender, and legally changes their name to reflect that change and is indeed public about this change -- then that person should be assigned that particular pronoun. Simply going by what physical equipment they may have in the "private area" is really no one's business and is of a 19th Century mindset. PeteinDC 12:01, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Eve Graveyard.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Lennox Yearwood and torture[edit]

I put an NPOV marker on the paragraph about the Guantanamo concert because saying "Yearwood has called for an end to the torture at Guantanamo Bay" as fact can be read as implying the existence of torture at Guantanamo Bay as fact. Since there are those who do not believe the US government's activities at Guantanamo Bay to constitute torture, this would be POV. Of course you can read it otherwise, so "Fred called for the intervention of the Invisible Pink Unicorn" doesn't necessarily imply that the speaker believes in the IPU, but I think it's as well to reword it in case people get the wrong idea. Proposed deletion of Pete Perry[edit]

The article Pete Perry has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

An obviously self created and maintained WP:BLP by an activist with no WP:RS mention. Without reference fluffing this article fails to meet WP:BIO.

Matthis Chiroux[edit]

Pete, I noticed that in this set of edits you asserted that Chiroux was one of five others present at the arrest, aside from Sheehan. You also assert that Chirous is a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan. Mr. Chiroux is not a veteran of either war (he lied about Afghanistan and to the best of my knowledge he never publically claimed Iraq). The citation you provided stated that there were four (not five) other activists present and did not make any mention of Mr. Chiroux (or any others aside from Sheehan) by name. I was wondering if you had another source that you intended to use or were possibly present yourself and were inserting original research? If you have any other sources on the arrests that could clear this up that would be greatly appreciated by me and would be very useful in the article. That would be great, thanks. As for Chiroux's service, it's not really a dispute. He's been throughly outed and his military records published under the Freedom of Information Act. He spent six days on Bagram airbase writing a "go team" story and taking pictures as a Public Affairs soldier for the Army and then left Afghanistan. He never left the base or conducted any operations outside that secure zone. His war crimes stories about killing children, torture and murder are all fraudulent. The purpose of his lying on his speaking tours and other events I can only speculate on so I'll avoid making any assertions about it in this particular forum.TomPointTwo (talk) 01:30, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
