Dear Steve, I am a bit concerned about the deletion of Ruth Crisp. I had thought it was clear in the article that she was a notable crossword compiler via the obits in the Guardian and Telegraph. Could you have another look and/or advise about how I might proceed if I wish to get the article back/reverse the speedy deletion? Do I go for a Deletion Review or can we have perhaps an Afd instead? Or would you like me just to make it again and add another ref eg Crowther, Jonathan (2006) Collins A to Z of Crosswords: Insight Into the Top Setters and Their Crosswords, Harper Collins, which has more biographical details see p72-74, p190 and Last word, Radio 4's weekly obituaries programme, Friday 2nd February 2007 16:00-16:30 Matthew Bannister discussed Ruth Crisp with Hugh Stephenson http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/news/lastword_2feb2007.shtml . These extra independent source indicating her notability as a top British crossword compiler would seem to make it even more likely that the article will survive any possible Afd. Best wishes :) (Msrasnw (talk) 15:58, 30 January 2013 (UTC))

Hi, I have reviewed the article, and am persuaded that there is sufficient claim of significance to avoid a speedy deletion! As such, I have restored it - if someone wants to get it deleted, they will need to go to AfD - if there was a Proposal for deletion, I would contest that! Editing Singapore International Energy Week's Wiki Page

Hi Steve,

I'm Eileen and I wrote to you earlier with regard to editing the "2012" section of the wiki page belonging to Singapore International Energy Week.

Can we know the status of that and if there's any help we can provide you with on our end? :)

Thanks!

Best, Eileen — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.128.171.100 (talk) 06:01, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi Eileen, it's still here (in my archive) - life has been busy for me! I'll hopefully get to work on it tomorrow. Regards, PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 12:19, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
Hi Eileen, I have now updated the Singapore International Energy Week article. Incidentally, I couldn't find any mention of the number of participants in the 2012 event - are figures available somewhere that I can look up. Also, I can find no mention of the theme for the 2013 event - is one decided yet, or will that come later in the year? Regards, PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 10:01, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi Steve,

Thanks so much for updating the page! For the statistics on the no. of visitors for SIEW 2012, you can refer and cite this Post Show Report (http://siew.sg/pdf/SIEW_PostshowReport2012.pdf)

No, the theme for SIEW 2013 has not been set yet.

Deletion of Musée Granet

Hi,

The article I created was tagged for copyvio and deleted while I was on vacation. All I can recall at this point was that I copied part of a paragraph from Aix-en-Provence#Museums_and_Libraries as well as translated part of the Fr: wiki ,which had to be reconciled with info on the museum's own website. Your edit summary left a clue, citing [1] but this is now a blank page. Would you mind userfying the deleted article so I can sort things out, or even having another look yourself? Sparafucil (talk) 01:07, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

As the text in question was near-enough a total copy from the site cited in the deletion message, I am unable to restore it - even as a user page, copyvios cannot be kept. I would suggest that you look at the relevant web pages, and re-create the article in your own words. I am sorry that I cannot be more helpful, but as you will understand, Wikipedia takes a firm stance on the use of copyrighted material (incidentally, there is no doubt about the copyright status, as the website has "Copyright 2012 - Belles Demeures de Provence Sotheby's International Realty" at the bottom of the page!)
Regards, PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 16:59, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
I see the assertion of copyright on the now blanked page you linked, but I have told you my sources and can assure you that I only learned of the site from your edit summary and did not copy from it, nor can I even verify that a page about the Musée Granet ever existed there. Can you tell at least if there was any info left on the article talk page before it was deleted? Sparafucil (talk) 05:09, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
The copyright notice can be seen at the bottom of the page bdp-sothebysrealty.com/archives/1129. On that page, about half way down, in the list of museums, there is a paragraph starting "Le Musée Granet, a museum devoted to painting...." - which is almost word-for-word (about 95% or more) what was in the deleted article. That is why it was deleted, and why it cannot be restored, even for a user page. Regarding the talk page, there was no talk page deleted, as one did not exist. PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 06:57, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi. :) Turns out this was a {{backwardscopy}} that was somewhat obscured by an article split that did not follow Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. We had the content before they did, just as Aix-en-Provence. I've done the necessary mop up at the article and its (now existant!) talk page, as well as at the talk page of the original. :) (More info on my talk page.) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:40, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Thanks Phantomesteve for the full archive link, and thanks Moonriddengirl for straightening things out! Sparafucil (talk) 20:33, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
Nice catch, Moonriddengirl! I'm glad it's all been sorted - I much prefer to keep content where possible! Regards, PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 05:11, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Hello Phantomsteve: I am hoping I can solicit your help related to the message thread below. I have been working with Wikipedia Admin support via email and can PM conversations in needed. I am seeking review to undelete Mindscape Band. It appears Malik made a revision to the appropriate name from Mindscape to Mindscape (Band) if I understand correctly. It sounds like there was an issue with references or information that was biased in nature. There is nothing for sale or indicating personal gain. The page was strictly meant to be informative to fans on history, reviews and band details. I am happy to correct it, if I understand what it is. I appreciate your help, I am a supported of Wikipedia and have no intentions of misleading or misdirecting anyone. I messaged your other talk and noted that you're not actively managing it daily. Thanks for your time. 23:30, 9 February 2013 (UTC)MindscapeBand (talk) 08:33, 10 February 2013 (UTC)--MindscapeBand 08:33, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

Hello. Mindscape Band was a redirect to a deleted article, titled Mindscape (band). That's why I deleted the page and described it as a "redirect to an invalid target". Perhaps you're wondering why User:Phantomsteve deleted Mindscape (band)? It's because the page was promotional in tone, more like an advertisement than an encyclopedia article. If you'd like to discuss the deletion of Mindscape (band), please contact User:Phantomsteve. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 19:43, 9 February 2013 (UTC) Hi. Thank you for your help. I have contacted User:Phantomsteve to assist and enlighten me to help address the issues. Anything incorrect was inadvertant and can be resolved. I appreciate you responding. - Scot — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mindscaperussia (talk • contribs) 23:19, 9 February 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mindscaperussia (talkcontribs)

Hi, thanks for contacting me. I have looked at the deleted article, and it reads more like a "fan page" than an encyclopedic article. I could consider undeleting it, but there is some information I would require first:
  1. Some evidence that they are "chart-topping" - which charts (see here for guidance on chart listings which are recognised on Wikipedia)
  2. Some third-party (independent), reliable sources which demonstrate their notability. In brief, they should not be any of the band's websites (or social media pages), nor those of their agents or record company. Press coverage would be best (but not press releases, or minor mentions - e.g. in a list of bands appearing at a festival or similar) - also, articles which are basically transcriptions of an interview are not sufficient - they need to be articles written independently by a staff member of the publication.
These would not mean that the article would not be re-deleted, but it would be sufficient for me to restore the content, add this information, and put it up for deletion at Articles for Deletion, if I am not convinced personally that they meet the notability criteria.
If you cannot provide these bits of information, then we have nothing else to discuss at this time! Regards, PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 17:11, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
Incidentally, I have blocked your account as its name seems to be connected with the band. Your user name is the only reason for this block. To be unblocked and request a new name, please do not create a new account - follow the instructions on your talk page, which explains how to request a new name! Miss Black America (album)

Sorry, but there's an important 'and' in the reason on A9. Even if the album is a total failure clocking only two free downloads, but the artiste has an article here, A9 does not apply. Also, if the album tops the charts but the artiste doesn't have an article, the article stands. It's an AND gate not an OR gate. No prejudice against prod or AfD. CSD is limited - those aren't. (OK, they are - you wouldn't get far saying 'This should be deleted because my cat doesn't like the record'.) Peridon (talk) 23:27, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

You are quite right, thanks for reminding me of that! Regards, PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 00:42, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help.
